Holiday Sales Are All About SERVICE!

Since the holidays are literally just around the corner it is time to think about holiday selling and still working  through the hussle and bustle of the holiday season. I’ll admit, in the past I have always been intimidated by November and December. The first year I was working my business I did a craft bazaar at a church and when I called the leads many were too busy due to holiday plans. This year (5 years later) is different! For the first time I am READY for the season and will take control of the situation. (more…)

Month End Roundup

Well, September came and went and now it is October. Can you believe it? I can’t. Last night I was going over my datebook planning my work schedule in disbelief that I was looking at October and November! Unbelievable. Where has the year gone? My September was quite productive. I’m happy with my results. I set some goals. My faces goal was fifteen faces. I did seven faces. This was actually one more face than last month. My retail sales goal was $2000. My actual retail sales came in right around $600. So, I missed my goals, but I still made money. :) How did you do in September? (more…)

Got Goals?

This comes a little late in the month, I know. July is the start of the new fiscal year and in MaryKayland, that is also the start of our Seminar contest year. Every year we talk about new goals and getting a fresh start on the new year. In the past I’ll admit it was all fun and games and everything kinda went in one ear and out the other. Yes, I made some goals, but I didn’t see any urgency so I didn’t really go for them. It’s been just about five years since I signed my agreement to take up a new hobby. Back then I just wanted a hobby and didn’t see any reason to pursue my business any further than that. There is nothing wrong with that. I think this is how many if not most consultants get started. I think that is fine. It allows freedom to work how they want. I’m glad for that. These past two years have made me rethink my approach to my hobby and I have decided to work the business aspect more. As I was making this transition I realized, “Hey! It’s July! The new year is just starting. What fabulous timing!” So, I have some very lofty goals. (more…)

Great Sales Idea

Last night at my meeting the focus was trunk shows and on-the-go. I wanted to share an idea that a unit member of mine is doing to promote the Apple Berry Lipstick promotion. She shared that her goal is to sell 100 Apple Berry Lipsticks by December 31. Here is what she is doing. She has packaged several Apple Berry Lipsticks and the special promotional bags into a Miracle Set Bag and carries this with her to work, on errands, etc. People ask her about the bag and she tells them about the promotion. She has sold 7 so far. (more…)

Web Hostess Ideas

Thank you, to Pink Bren who emailed me these great Web Hostess emails! Pink Bren, I’m sorry for not responding. For some reason the first email you sent was in my spam. It’s not in spam anymore! ;) Feel free to use these and/or moderate them to make them your own! (more…)

My Customers Want the Old Colors and They Don’t Fit in the New Compacts! What to Do if this Happens to You

One of my readers voiced her concerns that she is getting orders for the old compacts because they are discovering some of the old eye and cheek colors. Since the old compacts are on the discontinued list and many are not available, how do we address this dilemma? I have some suggestions and this board is open to others as always. ;)

If someone has just discovered Sunny Spice and is in love, but she needs the compact and you’re out of the old version it can be quite frustrating. My first suggestion would be to check the Discontinued Section 1 items on InTouch. It is my understanding that only the Custom Compact is still available. The next suggestion is to talk to your director or sister consultants and see if anyone has one you can trade. I am not above helping each other out in these situations.

Here is what I am doing right now:

Five and Ten Sale

I’m trying yet another tactic to drive my sales up this month. I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before. I guess I kind of got the idea from the training I had on open house alternatives. I’m having a Five and Ten sale. Everything is either $5 or $10. It’s older discontinued items that I just want to move. I have original Satin Hands, Pedicure Sets, nail polishes, past holiday limited edition items, and Embrace Spa products. I’ve already sold the Satin Hands set and I expect to sell much more once I launch the sale tomorrow. I told a couple people about it today and they are very excited.

Did I mention I’m doing this primarily at work? I am. I have large drawers in my desk and the stuff will fit nicely inside. One drawer will have $10 items and the other will have $5 items. Perfect! This promotion is exciting to me and I expect some pretty good results. I’ll post them as I experience them! :D If anyone has other year end sales ideas, feel free to share them!

Selling Idea

This is something I sent out on email to my customers. If it appeals to you, you may copy it for yourself. In the email, I linked to my website for each of the highlighted products. I may convert it to word and mail it, too–with the exception of the December 7, deadline. :) Anyway, just thought I’d share: (more…)

The Alternative to the Open House!

Did you know there are more than 12 days left until Christmas? I wasn’t even paying attention. There are actually 13 more shopping days left. That is a lot of time and tonight at my meeting, my eyes were opened to so many possibilities that I just have to share my new knowledge! :) Once a month, our unit joins 5 or 6 other units for a large training session. Tonight was the December night! I was able to train with directors I don’t see on a weekly basis. It was excellent. (more…)
