Silent Hostess: Worth It or Lost Cause

I’m very curious to know what everyone’s opinion is of silent hostesses. Are they worth it or a waste of time and resources? In the past, they have never really worked well for me. I don’t know if it is the integrity of the people I’m asking or if I need to coach it more effectively. This week I tried one and it didn’t go over so well. I thought it would work wonderfully because I used this one “program” that some ladies in my unit were trying. I thought it was filled with incentives for all and would promote sales. (more…)

Customer Loyalty

What keeps your customers loyal to you? How do you ensure that another less scrupulous consultant won’t be able to swoop down and take customers right out of our customer base? The answer is customer service. If you build a strong relationship with your customers and listen to their needs and wants; they won’t dream of buying their products from anyone but you. (more…)

Open House Tips

images.jpegCan you believe it’s already September? Christmas shopping is just around the corner! In Mary Kay, that means it’s about that time of year when we hold holiday open houses.

With Open House Season practically upon us, I thought I would share some tips and ideas for holding one. I myself have not yet held my own holiday open house, but I have collected some great tips from my director’s senior. (more…)

Move that Color!

With big changes coming in the MK Color line, we are going to need some help moving what we’ve got so we don’t get stuck. My director emailed some tips from another director. They look like some really excellent ideas. So far, I’ve just skimmed over it. I’d love your feedback and if you have ideas, feel free to share! Next month, I’m doing a HUGE Back to School Sale to move that color! My director gets some of her info from a website called All About You. It’s a resource for directors. So, if any directors are gracing my blog with their presence ;) it might be a great resource for you. It looks like you have to get a membership and that may have a fee. Thought I’d mention it for anyone interested.

This is the email I received today: (more…)

Product Promise

Did you know that Mary Kay® has a Product Promise readily available at our fingertips? Well, it does! This document is available on the Intouch website as a PDF file under LearnMK and then Product Knowledge. There is a link that says “Product Promise (PDF).” I have it quoted below, but better yet, you can print it out! My director recommends printing it and getting one of those clear 8×10 plastic stands that can hold pictures or documents and display this document at appointments. What a fantastic idea!

Mary Kay Ash founded her Company on the personal values that guided her life — integrity, honesty and an

unwavering belief in the Golden Rule. She had one goal — to help women live the life of their dreams, and with

a handful of products, she helped those dreams come true. (more…)

Product Changes: How to Deal

The following information was sent to me last night by my director. I think it has some very helpful information and advice where product changes are concerned. Change is good. Remember that. Also remember, that it is against human nature to want to change. Most people reach a comfort zone, but sometimes, in order to improve, change must happen–even if it’s uncomfortable or even scary. These product changes are not the end of the world or the downfall of our MK businesses. They are just part of business as usual and adjustments will need to be made. This should be very useful information:

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY!!!

If you’ve read your Applause magazine or been on-line to order recently, you’ve noticed that our product line is making some changes. And some of the current products have begun selling out. (more…)
