Across the board, I am seeing a lot of mistakes made with inventory orders. I am sure we have all been there. I know I have made a mistake here and there. I’ve decided to dedicate this post to helpful ideas and tips for placing inventory orders–from the initial order to restocking orders. We don’t want to order more than we can handle, but we don’t want to come up short either. Which is better? In my opinion, I think it’s OK to come up short. I do think it is smart business practice to have an inventory, but there are good ways and bad ways to achieve inventory. Here, I am going to make some suggestions that I feel are useful for keeping inventory under control and manageable–both product-wise and money-wise. (more…)
This is a few days old, but I have been really bad lately about checking InTouch. Anyway, they are making a generic sample card for any samples. I love this! I often wouldn’t buy the sample cards because I don’t use all of them or I felt like they should come with the samples. This will solve those problems. 
Sampler Cards Update
Great news! Beginning 3/16/08, we will be launching a new all-purpose sampler card. The new Sample Anything! Card will be the perfect Mary Kay package to house a variety of product samples allowing you to customize sampling experiences for your customers without having to purchase multiple, separate sampler cards!
The Sample Anything! Card also will include other exciting features – customer service cards that will remind your customer that you are always available to fulfill all her beauty needs, as well as a card she can share with a friend. Also included will be upsell information for key skin care products such as the Miracle Set and the TimeWise® Microdermabrasion Set.
To help prepare for the launch of this exciting new sampler card, we will slowly begin phasing out many of our current sampler cards as inventory is depleted, beginning with the Satin Hands® Pampering Set Sampler Card and TimeWise® Microdermabrasion Set Sampler Card on the 12/16/07 Consultant order form, which will be available only while supplies last. The TimeWise® Targeted-Action™ Line Reducer sampler card and Mary Kay® Nourishing Body Lotion sampler cards, in which the samplers are already affixed to the cards, will remain in the line and will fit beautifully inside the new Sample Anything! Card.
Yea! I’m A1 again! Woo hoo! My Back to School Sale gave me a little push in the right direction! I’m still collecting orders, too. Due to the death in my family I decided to extend it a little bit because many of my customers are coworkers whom I won’t see until later this week.
It does feel good to be active. 
Now, I have a team member who wants to get active, too. I have to help her out next!

UPDATE: OK. Last night I totally forgot to place my PCP order. Frantically, I emailed my director. Then, just for the sake of trying, I went on InTouch to see if I could enroll today. Well, I could! I just went on InTouch now and it says the new deadline is August 19! It’s not posted in the “News” section nor has it been emailed yet, but if you click on the Preferred Customer Program Link, underneath the big picture of The Look, it has the dates to enroll listed as July 15-August 19! Just wanted to make sure you are all aware so that if you forgot or had computer issues or whatever, you can enroll thru Sunday, August 19!!!

I think this is great news! Too bad I forgot to do my PCP list like a dummy.

Inventory Update – MK Signature® Brush Set
Congratulations on a strong summer selling season! We are anticipating that the inventory of the MK Signature® Brush Set (part number 10-000434, $45 suggested retail) will soon be depleted at each of the branches.
OK, this news isn’t as bad as I feared when I first started to read it, but it’s excellent information nonetheless and is understandable. I’m relieved that the PCP version features the product! Anywho, this was in my email tonight:
As you may know, the TimeWise® Targeted-Action Eye Revitalizer is now available for ordering. And while this fabulous new product is featured in the Fall/Holiday Preferred Customer Program version of The Look, you may wonder why it is not included in the Fall/Holiday issue of The Look that you can order on the Sept. 16 Consultant order form (open stock version.)
At the time we went to press for the open stock version of this brochure, we still were not sure when this product would be available. We did not want to put you in the position that a product was again featured in The Look that you were not able to offer your customers. The Preferred Customer Program version of The Look went to press at a later date so we were able to include the TimeWise® Targeted Action Eye Revitalizer.
The good news is that the TimeWise® Targeted-Action Eye Revitalizer ad, as seen in the Summer issue of The Look, will be posted on the Mary Kay® InTouch Web site Sept. 16 so you can print the ad and insert into The Look you share with your customers.
