This afternoon I manned a table at a local bridal show along with three other consultants. I’m taking this opportunity to talk a little bit more about numbers and this business. When I first started talking to the brides and their friends and families it seemed that many of them already had consultants. For the most part, I know the consultants and will contact them to follow up with these customers.
Now that it’s all said and done, I have 36 total leads. That means I talked to 36 actual people between 12:30 and 2:30 today! That’s huge for me! At first I was scared to talk, but as I kept doing it, it became easier for me. It was even fun.

We’ve all heard that selling is a numbers game and numbers never lie. I never fully understood this. It drove me nuts. Especially when I booked 13 classes in one month a couple years ago and of those 13 classes, 3 held!? I was really discouraged. My first thought was that numbers game just plain doesn’t work! But looking back on it now, it does. And then, a few weeks after that experience, my director did a little demo with a deck of cards that made absolute sense. (more…)
This comes from a conference call I was on with future NSD Heather Carlson. She gave some great training on how a Power Start each month will launch your business! The main point to stress here is numbers never lie. Therefore, first and foremost, we should have a faces goal each month. Even if team building/directorship is not your ultimate goal in MK, you should still have monthly goals. If you don’t have a goal and a plan, you simply won’t make money. I hear a lot of people in my area say, “if you aim at nothing you’ll hit it every time.” Have a goal. Have a plan. Be willing towork the numbers.
The first thing to remember again is numbers never lie. What we do in this business is put the product on faces, sell the products, and possibly move up in the process if we choose. (more…)
