Newfound Inspiration

This week I found new inspiration for my business. It’s July and I want to start this year off right. I want to be a four quarter star this year among other goals. We had a great training session! My friend trained on booking, but what she really trained on is how she talks to people. She’s a brand new director. She’s been in MK since May 2008. Yes. Just over a year and she has been a director for 4 months! She has no fear, but she is so down to earth and real I love listening to her teach at our events. She’s an inspiration to me. After listening to her I feel less fearful. :) (more…)

Setting and Tracking Goals Pays Off

It has been a full week since Career Conference and I have been working hard! Whenever I go to that event I come back fully recharged and ready to work. This year was reminiscent of my first Career Conference. I came home and sold $1600 retail in that month. I aim to repeat that this year and keep it steady all year. ;) So far, I’m off to a great start! I had a Star Consultant week last week. My goal was to sell $400 retail in that week. I ended up just shy by $29! My total retail sales came to $371.70! That includes discounts! (more…)

June Book of the Month

This is something new I’m doing. I want to read more and I’ve finally succeeded in finishing a book I’ve started! June’s book was Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. OK, so I started reading it way back in February! I became sidetracked and pressed for time. I also realize this is not really a business related book, but I do think that in order to be at the top of our game we need to be well adjusted. Eat Pray Love is about exactly that. It’s a woman’s physical and mental journey through self discovery. She travels to Italy, India and Indonesia in an attempt to find pleasure, God, and overall balance which is mainly for her, love of self. (more…)

Is the Grass Greener?

This story was sent to me by my director today in an email. It is so intriguing and so relevant to our business (or any business endeavor, really). All to often we are wishing we have what others have. We feel like we are left behind while others are prospering. I think the following article very clearly shows why the grass may only seem greener on someone else’s pasture. Please enjoy the article and share what you think: :D (more…)

Slow and Steady Still Wins the Race

This is yet another very insightful article from Get Motivation.  It illustrates how to accelerate your abilities over time. This is a pretty good example of how I approach my Mary Kay business. I take in as much information as I can and apply it and see where it takes me. Enjoy the article: (more…)

Be Bold!

In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve been posting a few videos lately. I have a chance to go through some old emails I got over the past few weeks. They are inspirational video clips that I haven’t had a chance to sit down and watch. When I like them, I post them. I’ve been liking them. This one is called The Sales Diva Movie. I think it really is about empowerment and abundant living. I think it makes some great points.

Dare to Dream

I’m a sucker for these video clips. This one is about why we should not give up on a dream if we hit a few bumps in the road. No dream can become reality if we don’t allow it to. Perseverance is one of the keys to realizing one’s dreams. Enjoy the What’s Your Dream Movie. :D

Our Actions Should Match Our Words

This is a really good inspirational video. I received it through one of my various email lists I belong to. It is called The Walk the Talk Movie. It is an excellent expression of how we should run our businesses. It is about not just talking, but doing! If you are going to talk about it, make it happen! Be accountable, responsible, respectful, and respectable. Enjoy the video! :D

The Winding Path Towards a Goal

This article comes from Get Motivation. This is one thing I love about Mary Kay. It allows us the time to try different paths. With no quotas on us to weigh us down, we can work at our own pace. Enjoy the article: :D (more…)
