It’s time for this week’s edition of Fight the Frump hosted by Mrs. Fussypants’Blog. Each installment will have a list of different things I do to keep myself feeling sassy. (more…)

It’s been a long time since I’ve participated in Fight the Frump with Fussypants. I’m back; for now, anyway. I had to think about what I wanted to write about for avoiding frumpiness and since it is turning cold out and winter is fast approaching — I mean we had snow today — the sun is going away. Some of you might have a nice tan from being out in the sun’s rays. I’m not so fortunate. I’m always pale. Sometimes I’m a darker shade of pale, but pale nonetheless. (more…)
Guess what! In case you weren’t already aware, the Compact Pro is now available to order! I will be taking advantage of this soon. I saw it at my meeting last night and it looks very nice and a little smaller than the old Color Palette. It’s a few dollars less, too. ![]()
This week for Fight the Frump with Fussypants I’m talking about the dreaded eye shadow crease! You all know what I’m talking about. You apply your eye makeup pristinely in the morning and by noon there is a thin line of color amid a bare patch in your eyelid crease. It’s unsightly, isn’t it? I have some suggestions that will make that problem history.

Since it is mid-July and the heat is steamy and humid, I think it’s a good time to talk about acne prevention and treatment! In this humidity anyone can have oily overload. Last week I did and I used my typical acne routine. I cleansed, used Blemish Control Toner Formula 3, Night Solution, and moisturizer. So, the focus is acne treatment and oil control products. Just for fun I decided to try a different look on each eye. I just couldn’t help myself! Also, I couldn’t contain myself long enough to wait til morning so I fooled around with makeup after my shower tonight. Call me crazy, I don’t care!

This evening my order arrived! I’ve been waiting! I am always impressed with how quickly my products arrive after I order them. I think I placed my order last Wednesday. Tonight I got my new colors arranged nicely into the display trays. I don’t have every single color in there, but I have most of the eye colors and the blushes I find most appealing.
I have all of the new eye colors in the bottom tray except for Coal. I have Cinnamon Stick cheek color in the top right corner set. In the top center square you will see Sunny Spice (left) and Sparkling Cider (right) cheek colors. The bottom center square contains Berry Brown (left) and Pink Petals (right) cheek colors. Most likely, I will order one or two more display trays to showcase everything in an appealing manner. If you choose to do this yourself, be sure to arrange the colors to compliment each other. Avoid having colors that clash too close to each other in the tray. ![]()

As I’ve mentioned before, we got to see the new mineral makeup colors at our meeting last night. Our training included how to display the new colors on the go. It may seem like there are tons of colors, but guess what! Two display trays and one compact will hold all the new shades!
My strategy will be to get the new colors and get them into my display trays. I believe it will fit all of the eye colors, cheek colors, and bronzing/highlighting powders. Isn’t that good news? No big bulky displays required. Here’s another tip; at Wal-Mart there is a tackle box with 18 storage slots that will hold the new mineral colors as well. We were forewarned that each slot will hold 7 colors, but only put 6 in there otherwise you will have a lot of difficulty when you want to get them out! (more…)
It’s Memorial Day Weekend, and in my book, that officially begins summer. Why? Because warmer weather is just around the corner if it’s not here already. With warm weather comes sandal season! In the past, Mary Kay offered Pedicure Sets for consultants to sell to customers. Tonight I had the time to treat my feet right! I have emailed Mary Kay, Inc. about possibly brining pedicure sets back to the regular line. Until they do that (or if they do not) I would like to share some alternatives to the pedicure set that can be used to do pedicure classes.
First of all, the key to providing a successful pedicure is a good exfoliant that acts as a mask on the feet. This can be accomplished several different Mary Kay® products. The first is easy. It’s Satin Hands. The Satin Hands set can be used on the feet. You can create a nice exfoliating mask with the Satin Smoothie Scrub and Extra Emollient Night Cream. If you have older products you are trying to sell off, here are some other ideas: (more…)
