“People with goals succeed, and those without goals fail. Define your goals. Then write your goals down along with a specific plan for accomplishing them. Break the long-term goal into a series of little goals, each attainable with a specific timeframe. As the saying goes, ‘You can eat an elephant one bite at a time.’” –Mary Kay Ash
For better understanding of goals, let’s break it down. I’m going to use an example. I think it is a good example and everyone should have this particular goal. The numbers can be different. What I am doing is breaking down a Seminar year sales goal into pieces.
I’m going to dissect my Seminar 2009 goal. Here is the breakdown: (more…)
One of my readers voiced her concerns that she is getting orders for the old compacts because they are discovering some of the old eye and cheek colors. Since the old compacts are on the discontinued list and many are not available, how do we address this dilemma? I have some suggestions and this board is open to others as always.
If someone has just discovered Sunny Spice and is in love, but she needs the compact and you’re out of the old version it can be quite frustrating. My first suggestion would be to check the Discontinued Section 1 items on InTouch. It is my understanding that only the Custom Compact is still available. The next suggestion is to talk to your director or sister consultants and see if anyone has one you can trade. I am not above helping each other out in these situations.
One of my readers, MK4ME, emailed me this picture. It is a great way to still get use of those older Cosmetic Display Trays with the new products. Don’t be discouraged if you have those and aren’t ready to buy the new ones. Thank you, MK4ME!
Across the board, I am seeing a lot of mistakes made with inventory orders. I am sure we have all been there. I know I have made a mistake here and there. I’ve decided to dedicate this post to helpful ideas and tips for placing inventory orders–from the initial order to restocking orders. We don’t want to order more than we can handle, but we don’t want to come up short either. Which is better? In my opinion, I think it’s OK to come up short. I do think it is smart business practice to have an inventory, but there are good ways and bad ways to achieve inventory. Here, I am going to make some suggestions that I feel are useful for keeping inventory under control and manageable–both product-wise and money-wise. (more…)
Today my Mineral Powder Foundation arrived! I have been sick for days so I am feeling better this evening and decided to give it a try before wearing it to work tomorrow. Overall, I do like it. I’ve decided to take this opportunity to list my pros and cons. Please note, this is the only Mineral Powder Foundation I have ever tried. It is not my intent to compare it to another brand of the same product. This is simply my take on the experience of wearing MK’s Mineral Powder Foundation. Here goes: (more…)
This is some interesting advice on networking this season. It came on email from The Clothing Chronicles. It’s a newsletter from Fashion for Real Women. I would love your opinions on this article: (more…)
I’m trying yet another tactic to drive my sales up this month. I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before. I guess I kind of got the idea from the training I had on open house alternatives. I’m having a Five and Ten sale. Everything is either $5 or $10. It’s older discontinued items that I just want to move. I have original Satin Hands, Pedicure Sets, nail polishes, past holiday limited edition items, and Embrace Spa products. I’ve already sold the Satin Hands set and I expect to sell much more once I launch the sale tomorrow. I told a couple people about it today and they are very excited.
Did I mention I’m doing this primarily at work? I am. I have large drawers in my desk and the stuff will fit nicely inside. One drawer will have $10 items and the other will have $5 items. Perfect! This promotion is exciting to me and I expect some pretty good results. I’ll post them as I experience them! If anyone has other year end sales ideas, feel free to share them!
This is something I sent out on email to my customers. If it appeals to you, you may copy it for yourself. In the email, I linked to my website for each of the highlighted products. I may convert it to word and mail it, too–with the exception of the December 7, deadline. Anyway, just thought I’d share: (more…)
