Tips for Goal Setting

Perfect article from Get Motivation if you struggle with setting goals. I had trouble with goal setting for quite a long time.  My biggest issue was always figuring out what short-term goals were necessary to work toward the long-term goal. (more…)

Goals are in Stone; Deadlines are in Sand …

Realistically speaking, I think I have to rethink my DIQ agenda. I stated I want to submit DIQ in December. Given my lack of bookings coming through for November, I don’t know if that’s realistic. I’m still charging for it full speed ahead, however, I’m making plans to what to do next if I don’t meet it. I have 2 bookings for November. I’m not sure I’ll even get the 30 faces, but I’m surely going to try! I’m going to work right through the holiday season and see where I wind up. Perhaps I’ll be submitting in January. My definitive goal is to debut as a director by Career Conference. If I keep my current momentum, I can see that happening for real! :D

I believe in the adage “goals are written in stone; deadlines are written in sand.” Is this giving up? Certainly not! It’s simply planning ahead and making room for the success! My goal is my goal no matter what. When that goal comes to fruition may change. All I can do is work at it as hard as I can and keep building results. I’ll get it done! Maybe not as early as planned, but it will happen!

Daily Wins

Have a daily win. These are words I’ve heard from NSD Kathy Helou time and time again. What does that mean? What is a daily win? It’s essential to keep going in this business. If we don’t find a positive aspect in our businesses each day, we will lose the drive to keep going. Having a daily win is essential to staying focused and determined.

So, this is what I’m talking about: my current goal for November is 30 faces. I believe this will keep me on track for 3+3+3 program. The monthly goal needs to be broken down. So, I need to schedule to see 7-9 faces each week. Let’s say in week 1 I hold 3 classes and see 10 faces. In week 2 I have a class postpone and another cancel and I hold a facial. I have to hold onto that facial as a positive. If my daily goal is $100 in retail sales and I miss it one day and sell $40; rather than despair that I have “only sold” $40; and how could I have not sold $100. I need to embrace that small victory. That is a daily win! Had I not made the $100 goal, I most likely would have sold nothing. $40 is much better than $0!

Always get excited about the things you accomplish! Do not allow yourself to get caught up in what didn’t happen. This can cause business paralysis.

Announcing DIQ Goals!

Well, I have officially informed my director of my DIQ by December goal! I’m excited and scared (but that’s what good goals are supposed to do, right?). I definitely have the urgency and I’m already started down the booking path. I have an appointment next Thursday. Yay! I have some other interested customers. I’ve been taking orders. Next step–interviews! I have made my goal known to friends and family. Here is what my director had to say: (more…)

Make Practice Worthwhile

This article sheds new light on the concept of practicing any skill. Practicing for the sake of going through the motions is just that. Going through motions. In order to actually sharpen one’s skills, one must practice with gusto! Determining the weaknesses and working to improve them is what makes practice worthwhile until, finally, striving for perfection is the regular goal. Read on:

Normal Chaos

You have probably heard it said by someone wanting you to

repeat a monotonous activity that “practice makes perfect.”

As many times as you and I may have heard this, it is quite

simply not true. Practice does not make perfect. Practice

makes consistent. (more…)

Baby Step Booking

OK. I’m coming out of the shell I’ve been living in since April. Life is a little bit brighter. I feel OK about pursuing my business again. This Tuesday I will be attending my first unit meeting in at least 2 months. I am excited about this. Now I can finally pick up the purse I earned in June! (more…)

Committing to the Dream

This article from Get Motivation makes a valid point. Sometimes we just have to commit to a goal and dive in. Thinking will only interfere.

———————–A Commitment Creates Magic

“Resolution is the directing and impelling force in

individual progress. Without it no substantial work can be

accomplished.” - Above Life’s Turmoil

The esteemed philosopher Goethe wrote, “Until one is

committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back,

always ineffectiveness.” There are so many opportunities

that could make our lives better if we’d only make the

decision (resolution) to pursue them. (more…)

Booking 101

Tonight I was fortunate enough to be at my meeting for about an hour. It felt good to be back. Eventually, when things calm down and normalize at home, I can go back regularly. :)  Sadly, I didn’t get my purse. My director hasn’t ordered them yet. I hope she orders soon. I remember one time she waited too long and the ones she showed were no longer available. I’m sure she’ll do it soon. :D
In spite of not getting my prize (I need a new purse. I’ve been carrying the same one for awhile); I got some great booking advice that I’d like to share. I cannot take credit for these ideas. They are from my director’s senior. (more…)

Seminar Reflection

This is a good reflection from Unit Coach. I personally, prefer sunsets on the beach. ;) I wish I were going to Seminar and I wish my life were a whole lot less complicated right now. For those of you going, enjoy yourselves! :)

“Don’t Leave Seminar Without Doing This!”

One of my favorite things in the world is to watch the sunrise at the seashore. While I was on vacation recently, I stood on the beach each morning with a hot mug of coffee and thought about my life, my work, and my future. Everything seemed crystal clear. I gained such perspective - it seems you always do when you are away from the thick of it all. (more…)

Thoughts Before Seminar

Although I’m not going to Seminar myself, I think these are some excellent points. I’m planning to be at Seminar next year. It’s never to early to prepare! ;) This is another inspiring message from Unit Coach.

“What You Need to Know BEFORE Seminar”

At Seminar this year you will be inspired, changed, and profoundly moved. For many of you, your entire future will suddenly become crystal clear. It is truly an experience that can rock your world. From Seminar you will gain a new or clearer vision of your life and your business - guaranteed. (more…)
