This weekend I attended my eighth annual Career Conference! Although I’ve been to several, this one stood out from others for a few reasons. First, I attended a conference away from my unit. About 6 months ago I moved to another state. I’m building a new life and I’m figuring out where and how my business fits my life now. Second, I spent the time with my new adopted unit and had a great time! Third, I was exposed to Directors and National Sales Directors that I typically don’t see. This was the first Career Conference I attended that my NSD or her SNSD was not also attending. My NSD was up in Columbus, OH. I love my NSD, but I got to see Stacy James for the first time and she was very inspiring in her own right. Finally, (more…)
Back in February, I attended a new form of education being implemented by Corporate known as Satellite Education Event (SEE). I can’t believe I didn’t write about it here! It was quite good! I got a local buddy to ride with me that Saturday morning. It was held on Valentine’s Day of all days, but no matter. I wasn’t doing anything at 11:00 that morning and it was something new. Basically, corporate was broadcasting live, via satellite to 200 theaters across the nation. The event was to run from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. CST. In case you missed it, I’m in the Eastern Time Zone so that was 11:00 a.m. here. There was one broadcast so those on the West Coast had it kind of rough. OK, now it’s back to business as usual! There were some great facts shared at the conference this year. Some of the most interesting were about the Beauty that Counts promotion. The promotion resulted in $1.4 million in donation money raised from the sales of Appleberry lipstick! There is going to be another promotion later this year featuring not one, but two shades! Well, I just got back from Career Conference not too long ago. This was my sixth conference. I have never missed this event in my career. It is truly my favorite of favorites! The trip down was rather stress free. I only missed one exit and didn’t have too much trouble figuring out how to correct my mistake. I got there with a couple hours to spare to settle in, change into my suit, and grab something to eat. It was fun sporting my new shoes that Hubby bought me! I just love them! Happy 2009 everyone! I know it’s the middle of the month already, but I’ve had a very busy start to the year. This weekend was nonstop and it was all about my business! It feels great to be back in action. I kind of put everything on hold while I gained some stamina for the new year. Wow! I’ve been away a long time. I apologize for my extended absence. On the one hand, I was busy working my business! On the other hand, I was also dealing with CFS. Basically, I’ve been working my business consistently since July and the extra oomph has been wearing me out when coupled with my day job. Fortunately, I have put myself on a vitamin regimen and made some simple lifestyle changes (more sleep) and I’ve come out of my little funk. It’s great to be back! (more…)
