I’m a sucker for these video clips. This one is about why we should not give up on a dream if we hit a few bumps in the road. No dream can become reality if we don’t allow it to. Perseverance is one of the keys to realizing one’s dreams. Enjoy the What’s Your Dream Movie.
This weekend I’m traveling about an hour or so away from home in order to find new leads. Why? Why would I do this? It’s because I like to “think nationally.” You may have heard me say that before on my blog. It’s like thinking globally, but in MK-speak, that is nationally because one day, I would love to be an NSD. That is going to take me years. I’m not naive to that fact. But, when we make big goals, we have to be realistic when we are creating them and determining how much work it will take. (more…)
Well, I have officially informed my director of my DIQ by December goal! I’m excited and scared (but that’s what good goals are supposed to do, right?). I definitely have the urgency and I’m already started down the booking path. I have an appointment next Thursday. Yay! I have some other interested customers. I’ve been taking orders. Next step–interviews! I have made my goal known to friends and family. Here is what my director had to say: (more…)
These 2 articles remind me of things I heard Lisa Madson say in terms of waiting for the “right time” to start working Mary Kay. She says, “if we wait for all the lights to turn green, we will live here together!” She was referring to actually signing an agreement, but this is so relevant once we are consultants! Waiting for the “perfect time” to start working is just impractical. There is no such thing as the “right time.” Something could always happen to cause a setback or failure. Use these as stepping stones and not road blocks. If you don’t see the path to your success as plain as day, search for the hidden route to your success. Slow and steady can win the race! (more…)
In 2004 I attended my first and only Seminar. During the course of the event, I noticed a theme in many of the speeches and training that I heard. One speech that really stuck with me over the past few years was that of NSD Anne Newbury. In her speech, Anne spoke of having a strong vision as far as what she wanted from her business. Her speech struck a cord with me. After hearing her speak, I noticed she was not the only person to speak on this concept. Many of those honored that year made similar points in their speeches. This was in an email from my director. She received it from a sister consultant’s hubby!

vsridharan@dallasnews.com The first thing to behold is the pink, which is more like the shade of a bubble gum bubble than a bottle of Pepto-Bismol. It shines differently from different angles, and, upon close inspection, it sparkles.
But close inspection isn’t needed to see the chrome Mary Kay emblem attached just above another ostentatiously shiny name Escalade.
This is not your mother’s pink Cadillac.
