My recruiter did resubmit for DIQ today, too! Woo hoo! I am excited to start working on being her off spring. We had a vision together of next year’s seminar… Our director introducing her new sales director (my recruiter) who is debuting her first off spring (ME!!). I want this to be reality!!!!
I have the pic of the awesome heart ring on my vanity mirror. I will be wearing that on stage at Seminar 2008.
OK. I’ve had a bumpy week so far. Missed meeting last night. My director had my ribbon for being #10 in sales. I’ll get it next Tuesday for sure!
Tonight was good. I had a facial with one of my most loyal clients. She will be in the Model Search! It was fun, fast, and she bought $50.00 of products! That is always good!
I have a double facial scheduled for this Saturday! Yea! My Back to School Sale is proving successful so far. I sold a foundation today and have an oil mattifier to deliver tomorrow! I’m planning to make this a $300 week when it’s all said and done!
OK. I have a facial tentatively scheduled for next week. I also have a double facial (soon to be class) in the scheduling process! Yea! I’ve also received a $40.00 order today! Woo woo woo!!!

Today I got an email from a friend of mine. She forwarded an email from a mutual friend–she was looking for me because she needs moisturizer! Now, I have been keeping her on my mailing list and sending her emails about promotions I’m doing from time to time, but she still has my maiden name website and email address. She emailed our mutual friend who forwarded to me.
So, I’ve emailed her back my updated info, what I’ve been up to, asked how she has been, and to verify her contact info. I am hoping for another booking soon! Lesson learned: FOLLOW UP!
OK. A customer had emailed that she needed Age-Fighting Moisturizer, but now that she has gone online and ordered, she did get some other things! That makes my new total $162! Yea! I have 3 days to make it a $300 week! Star Week!
Today is getting better and better–and mind you I have not gotten up from my desk at the J-O-B once! I have another booking (2 actually) in the making and 3 people interested in Bella!
I called my friend who placed her order yesterday. I asked if she wants me to just mail her order to her (she lives an hour or so away from me). She said that’s fine and she would like to have a party!!! Yea! So, when I call her back next week to confirm receipt of her order, we’ll book!
OH! I have more–and by the way, I’m getting lonely on this thread! Anyone else have some great news to share???
I got a call at work from a colleague. She asked if it was me and I said yes. She asked if I still sell MK and I said yes! AND she wanted my new contact info (my name has changed since I got married) and she wants to place an order. So, I emailed her my new website and email info and sent her The Look through inter-office mail. Woo hoo! I’m on fire this week! Just gotta keep up the momentum!!!!
I have a new local power partner! Yea! Her focus is car qualification and my focus is DIQ and car qualification! We are doing a booth event in December. Can’t wait! It’s at a mall in her area. We are in the same unit, but live kinda far apart. I am going to contact local malls and businesses to see about doing additional booths around here. The booth even we have set up right now is over an hour away from me. I don’t mind though. I think nationally.
Had my facial today! Looks like it’s going to be a Grand Day! No, not a $1,000 day. Here in my neck of the woods, we refer to a Grand Day as a $100 day. My customer wants the Basic and some color for her upcoming trip. Her order is a little over $100. She wants to look at the catalog a bit to finalize her color choices and then we will finalize. I’m psyched!
AND a former hostess from last year found me on Facebook and mentioned she wants to order some things. Exciting stuff!
Delivered some products to my facial customer. $100 exactly! AND she wants to order some more things when she gets back from her trip. We’re going to set up a class so she can get some free stuff! I’m stoked!
I’ve been invited to join some other consultants in manning a booth at a bridal show in January! I’ve never done a bridal show before. I am super excited! The best part–the bridal show is right around the corner from my house! Locals!! Yea!
Well Im going to restaurants tomorrow with a sister consultant to ask them if we can do the flower thing and do facial boxes Ill let you know how it went
I’ve got 2 potential team members! Woo hoo!! One signed with me last year, but never got active. She is now ready to sign a new agreement. The other was talking about starting a home business and I asked if she wants to hear more about MK.
I just have to say it…it feels good when I sell my discontinued items! With regular line items I usually just automatically replace what I just sold…but with discontinued items I get to pick what I get next! Lame, I know…but just one of those things! lol

I guess I should also add that my bride show was awesome! 29 leads to call starting tonight or tomorrow (depends on how noisy my house is tonight). Tomorrow I’ll be home alone so I’ll have some peace and quiet for phone time.
I have a booking for next Tuesday! Yea! I stopped making calls after that. Incidentally, it was the first call I made last night. I like to stop while I’m ahead. Tonight, hubby has plans for us so I’m taking a MK break. Tomorrow while hubby works his late shift I’ll be back on the phone!
I got pretty excited today when a co-worker of mine (that i’ve had trouble booking in the past) approached me and said she needed a makeover. lol. She wants to try out the mineral powder…hooray! I’m going to try and channel this same excitement when i make my calls tonight, hehe.
My order arrived yesterday with some of the new lipstick shades. I love the new look of the lipsticks. My mom was impressed, too. I had intended on trying Nutmeg out, but guess what, my mom bought it! So, yay me for the sale! Wish I’d ordered 2!
I saw nutmeg, but it looked too dark for me and didn’t try it on…what foundation does she use, and how did it look?! Has anyone tried Rich Fig? It looks beautiful, but I haven’t seen it on anyone yet! (and it also looks too dark for me…I use Ivory 204)

My mom wears Beige 302. I am Ivory 104. I can get away with darker shades sometimes. I have samples of Nutmeg and Rich Fig. I like both. I’m going to be doing some experimenting this weekend!
A color tip: If you are high contrast, meaning, light complexion with dark hair and dark eyes, you can get away with more dramatic color choices. If you are low contrast (light skin, light hair; dark skin, dark hair) your options become more limited.
Robert Jones is coming to my state in the near future. I’m going to see what I can do about attending his workshop. I love learning about color techniques!
I love Nutmeg… I also thought it would be too dark, but it doesn’t go on that dark on me:) I also really like Rich Fig~~although it is DARK! I wear it with my director’s suit (goes really well with the Sugarberry gloss on top).
Many people can wear darker lipsticks than they think… it is a matter of having a light hand when applying and using a gloss over
SkinCareMom, I tried Rich Fig with Sugarberry and I love it! It’s dark and bold, but not scary on me. I love that the new lipsticks have that scent the glosses have. Mmmmmm!

I have been a consultant for 4 years now.. My mother in law is my director.. lol I will be starting my student teaching in Feb and my MK will be my only source of income for me, my husband is scared. I know I can do it tho. It is great to know there are people like you all out there.

I have some good news to share while I’m at it: I am calling a customer tomorrow to set up a birthday consultation.
I’m on a roll today! First off, I had a job interview and I feel pretty good about it. Of course, you never know how those really went until you either get hired or passed over. For now, I’m staying optimistic.
God is good!!! Im leaving the hotel tomorrow (from training) and I have enough hours to get 35 hours a week with the two projects from home…talk to you soon.
Had a one on one appointment with a loyal customer. She bought about $50 of product. We also have a class booked for the end of March–Mineral Madness party! lol Good times!
You go shades. That is great. I have had about 120.00 worth of reorders this week. I really need to get busy in this business. I know that it can work if I worked it and I would like to only do this because then it frees up time and I don’t have to be at my shop set hours. However it is up to me no one else. So there you go.
I had a $180 sales day yesterday! My class postponed, but I still managed to be profitable. I have some other orders to deliver this week as well. Time to get on the phone for more booking.

Hi guys! I had a very exciting class on Monday night - 7 girls and $595 in sales! And that is after the $40 hostess gift and one girl didn’t buy a thing… so product value was $635. Which beats my other highest-ever sales for a class of $630.. lol. Usually my classes aren’t nearly that hight. And yes, I sometimes do facials/classes where I sell a lipstick or mascara.
Oh… I forgot to mention, everything sold at that class was skin care, which I think is a first for me whenever I have high sales. I was more proud of that than the $ amount.
That’s great work, Jennifer! Thank you for sharing! My sales are primarily skin care. I sell very little glamor–however, that may change with these new mineral products!
Shades, that’s awesome. Skin care is the focus anyways, and a much better situation for reorders. Eyeshadows last foooreeeverrr! hehe. If you are wanting to do more color sales with the new products, holding a color-only class is fun (with current customers who already use the skin care). Cathy Goff-Brummet has an awesome outline for that, if you need it I’ve got it.
Got an email from my director yesterday forwarded from one of our unit members who needs help with an event tomorrow! She volunteered to provide the makeup for 86 kids for some kind of show at the local theater! She needs HELP! It’s a great opportunity because 86 kids have MOMS! So, it should be a great way to get some new leads. So far, three of us will be providing the service. I think it will be OK. I have a feeling some of the moms will want to do their own kids’ makeup. I did a fasion show at a store a few years ago and it was pretty much the same set up. Some wanted me to do the makeup and I said if I have their permission I would do it. It’s no different from the volunteers we used to have backstage for my dance recitals way back when. Also, I know what colors NOT to put onstage! (Blue eye shadow is a BIG DON’T and red lipstick is a HUGE NO-NO!) Anyway, it’s going to be crazy, but I’m looking forward to it! Of course I’ll post my experience!
OK. I got 3 leads, but the experience was so rewarding! I would totally do it again. It was a dance recital for kids ages 3-13. I had the youngest age group. What a bunch of cuties! I’ll dedicate a post to it. It is worth a post. I have to call my leads tonight.

I do one at the Health fair, well last year I took my stuff and ask the girl running it to watch it was in bed with 103 fever it was awful. Anyway I do get a lot of leads from there. Does anyone have a script for a Mother/young teen daughter party? My flip chart doesn’t cover Velocity skin care and I don’t want to bore young teens with the “old lady wrinkle stuff” anyway. LOL
Ah…this is one reason why I don’t like the flip chart and I don’t use it (maybe it’s also because I joined during a period when they didn’t even offer flip charts). I’ve done teen groups on occasion.
I basically talk about the importance of taking care of one’s skin and starting early. I also show them acne treatment products.

I gave her the scoop and then asked her if she is planning to sign up with her previous recruiter or director. She said NO! So I asked if she wants to sign up with me. She nodded, but said she is still thinking about it. I told her that is fine. I’ll answer any questions she has and just let me know what she decides.

I’ve been MIA. Work’s been just awful all week. I’ve been putting in extra hours at the office which has affected my time for MK. I have a few good leads from the festival I did over the weekend. I’m calling them in the morning on a break! I’ll let you all know what happens. Our unit is doing a booking challenge. We’re split into two teams. The team with more bookings by Monday gets treated to desserts by the other team.
I also conducted an interview yesterday. I think I’m going to see RED soon!

Another little bit of news. I rec’d a call last night from a dance team at a high school about 30 miles from were we live (at 10:30) last night she is going to call me today and we are going to set up a time to go and let the whole team try the eyeshadows for the team. They want to buy 15 compacts filled with eye shadows and blush and lip stick. So I will let ya’ll know tonight after I have talked to her. This is another that came from the website. Oh I am loving that website.

luv2tch, getting on the phone is huge. I have a terrible time with the phone. I am on the phone all day at my dreadful day job. The people I talk to are abhorable. It makes me not like people very much at all. Not good in sales! BUT these people are not my customers. I just feel beat up and worn out at the end of the day and the last thing I want to do is get on phone calls. The good thing: at the festival I did get leads who WANT to schedule appointments and hear about the business. Today was so bad at my day job that I am ready to march in with a resignation letter on Monday!
Anyway, I digress. I will be making some calls tomorrow morning after my conference call with my NSD.

OK. I followed up with my hostess for this Saturday and she has rescheduled for August 9. She wants to round up her guests. So, I made a few more phone calls. Got a lot of machines. Did NOT leave messages. I will just try them during the day tomorrow. I reached another one of my festival goers and she is now booked for this Saturday at noon as a single facial. We’ll see where it goes. She said she keeps to herself. I want to offer her a hostess bonus so if she loves the products I’m going to ask her about being a silent hostess at her work. I mentioned it to her briefly. Hopefully, that won’t intimidate her. I’ll follow up with her on Thursday or Friday to reconfirm. GO ME! LOL
Shades… You are rocking sister. That is great. That is what we have to do is to get on the phone and get over the fear. I saw a sign outside at the Calallen Baptist Church that read “Fear is something that has just not be prayed for yet”, so.
Anyway I met with the colonel of the dance team and she was excited. I was to take a another lipstick for her to look at and she couldn’t make it however she told me that she talked to her other officers and they were going to get the make up. I told her that when she was ready to order to call me.
Another note Dolly is going in right now at Brownsville and we will just get rain. So that is good. However not so good for the cotton farmers as the cotton has already bloomed. I want to say thanks for all the prayers they worked.

I had 4 guests at my meeting last Thursday night. OK, so it was my college aged daughter and 3 of her friends, but it was the first time the girls had had a makeover with MK. And they loved the way the skin care products and the mineral foundation made their faces feel.
Even though they are only 19 3 of them ordered the TimeWise and 1 ordered the Velocity. And also mineral powder foundation and eye makeup.
It was fun. I’m going to try to get a couple friends to come this week.

Winner of drawing gets her order 50% off!
I figure this gives the hostess incentive and the people ordering incentive.
Shades…Hey I posted on my blog the answer about the book. It is “THE MARY KAY WAY.” Yes she wrote it and it is good. They did a new version for the 45th year so there are little extras in there. It just shows how we should run our business the way of the Golden Rule…I am rereading it. I just want to do this right so that is what I am trying to do. Well Have a GREAT DAY.
Well, I was getting my cell phone out of my purse to charge it for the night and lo and behold there was a voice mail! The number was one I did not recognize. When I checked the message it was a MK orphan! Lost her consultant and NEEDS her skin care! I will be calling her in the morning to arrange delivery after work! How’d she find me? Message said she got my card from someone at some event (maybe at my festival a couple weeks ago). Aaah…that’s nice work!
Shades that is great. I am telling you if we get our cards and names out there people will call. I think that it doesn’t matter if we are doing something toward our business, it will come back. It is like the sowing and reaping in the Word. Just my opinion. However that is GREAT.Have a GREAT DAY

I met my new customer face to face. Delivered her products and gave her a mineral makeup sample. Invited her to our Monday night event, but I’m not sure she’ll go. I’m adding her to my mailing list.
By sheer coincidence I ran into a former team member. She became inactive sometime last year. She contacted me earlier this year to sign again and we didn’t coordinate. Today she said she’s ready and email her the agreement! I told her about the current promotion offered by the company and she’s excited about that. I think I’m going to be wearing red soon!
Shades…that is GREAT!! Well, I have a bit of disappointing news. The dance team that I met with decided that they were not going to get the compacts. The girl emailed me and I told her that was ok and please don’t be sorry. I also told her that if she ever would like to try other MK products please don’t hesitate to call. So I will keep on working I know that this can work and I will work it.

I have some good news! I booked a class for September 13. It’s a ways off, but it could be promising.
Also, I may have a guest tonight. I sent a postcard to a customer inviting her. I wasn’t sure she’d even get it before today (I mailed it Saturday). I saw her number in my caller ID so I will call her back and find out.
Made some phone calls and that didn’t go over so well this afternoon. Will try later. Emailed an existing customer about referrals and we are going to try a Virtual Hostess approach! Hopefully, this will go well. Wish me luck!
Had my meeting. On my lunch break I called to confirm my guests. I left a message instructing to just leave me a message whether they were coming. Message was one person, “I’ll be there.”
Got to meeting and I had three guests! Two want to sign up!
I did the skin care class for guests. Impromptu. It went well.

I suffer from cerebral vascular headaches and they are a killer when I have them! Although they happen less frequently as the years have passed-thank goodness! Hormone related I was told. As a matter of fact I’m doing more with my business now than I ever have in the past. She said, “well this is perfect because I need a Basic!” Aaaw yea!!

Just got back from meeting! Signed my team member! Now, here’s the fun part. I invited another customer to attend as my guest. I left her a message a few days ago. Told her bring a friend for Trading Faces. Never heard back and didn’t have a chance to call her. Pleasant surprise: She was there! With a guest! Three guests for me 2 weeks in a row! WOO HOO!
AND my customer asked a ton of questions about being a consultant so we will see where this leads. I think she is coming back next week.
Just went to the cafeteria at lunch and the ladies who prepare the food saw my pin and recognized me as the MK Lady! Got an order for 2 concealers, Journey fragrance, and Harmony (hope I can find one, we’ll see). What fun!
Yesterday I took my car for an oil change. I use that PCP gift from a few quarters back as my wallet. It’s the lipstick case that holds a lipstick, liner, gloss, and lip primer and also has a place to keep credit/debit/ID cards. The girl that rang me up complimented that thing and said she could use something like that. So…I asked her if she wanted one. And invited her to our guest event this week. She can’t go cuz she has to work, but she gave me her number so I can invite her in the future. Nice.
Shades….That is one way that we can get people talking and it is not actually warm chattering because she asked you. That is great. You are shaking and a movin. Keep up the good work.

This week is shaping up to be quite a week! It started with having 3 guests at my event Tuesday. I have 9 faces toward a power start right now. My 30 days will be up on September 19.
I sold some lipsticks at the event and booked a class for the 20.
I sold a Basic!
I already have a class booked for September 13, and today I was informed by the hostess that we seem to have a FULL HOUSE! I asked how many that means. She said her mom has invited a few friends, so it’s looking like a dozen people!
On Thursday, my newest team member signed up. Today I took her her pin and a little something (mineral powder brush) as a thank you for signing. She immediately announced to all present in her office, “Hey! I sell Mary Kay now! I SELL MARY KAY!” Think she’s excited? I sure am!
I am getting ready for my large appointment at 3:30. I need to pick up some cupcake trays or something for the mineral powder. I hope the rain dies down soon. I need to leave in 30 minutes! I’m doing a lipstick class because I’m expecting anywhere from 9 to a dozen! Too many for skin care. I’m going to do this lipstick class and book smaller skin care groups from the appointment. Unfortunately, I have to limit what I’m taking with me product-wise due to all this rain. I don’t want it getting all wet. Wish me luck! If all goes well, I will write about it (I’ll probably write about it if it doesn’t go well, too; but it’s going to be a smashing success).

This morning I had to get gas for my car. The card readers were down. I had to go inside and prepay. I’m wearing my pin. The girl at the counter asked me how MK is working for me. I told her it’s working well for me. She said she’s been thinking about doing something like it for awhile, but wants to see if it is worth it for her. I asked her if she is busy this evening and invited her to our guest event. We’ll see where it goes.
Keep us posted! Going about, doing the everyday things we all have to do, is one of the greatest ways to get leads that I know of! Doing my daily business (not MK, but LIFE) gets me out of the house and in front of real people and therefore, with someone who just might NEED what I have to offer!
Thanks! This is so true. My director is always saying go INSIDE at the bank. Don’t pay at the pump. I have never really made an effort to do these things, but after today, I may have to start listening to that piece of advice. It’s especially exciting when I don’t have to say anything at all. I just wear my pin and let them ask.
Make sure you have a few samples in your purse also! I know when I go in my bank, the ladies LOVE getting the newest goodie (right now I am giving the new fragrance samplers… and taking orders as they smell )
Hee Hee.. I gave one of the samples to a swim team mom who I have been trying to book…. She is “too busy”, but used MK years ago when her mom was consultant. Yesterday, when I quickly handed her the sample as we passed each other on the walkway at the pool, she said, “Does MK still have that Satin Lips stuff?” My answer: “Of course” She says: ” I NEED it!” I replied: “Do you want me to bring it back when I pick my son up?” Yes…sale…profile card FINALLY filled out and potential booking for next week!
I haven’t been on here very much lately. I’ve been trying to rest. Fatigue has me down and out at the moment. Yesterday I was home sick with migraine and fatigue. I got a $103 order via the internet! Woo hoo! I like that things still move even when I can’t.
Well, I have been MIA for the past couple of weeks. Busy with MK, work, and dealing with migraines. I’ll be back soon! Anyway, I did have some good things happen. I had a $70 facial last weekend! Yesterday I had an appointment with a new doctor. I had to have some blood work. The lab tech noticed my bag (carry your tote!) and asked if I sell Avon. I said no, I sell Mary Kay. Her face lit up and she said she has been looking for me! LOL She said she loves Mary Kay. I asked her if she needs a consultant. She does. Hers quit. So, I got a new customer! I love that I can just carry a bag or wear a pin and get new business — even when I don’t feel well.
Hey luv2tch…I’m baaaaaaaack!!! LOL I signed a new team member this week. She is very excited and has lots of great ideas! I’ll be writing daily this month!
I have a facial booked for tomorrow night! I wasn’t back from CC 24 hours when I got a call from a customer with whom I’ve been playing phone tag for months! She needs a basic and foundation so we’re going to do a facial because I think things have changed since she’s last used the products.
If I make it to work today (I have a horrible migraine) I have a delivery to make there and hope to turn that into an appointment as well.
Finally, I have some people to call and invite to an eye makeup class we’re doing this weekend. Fun stuff!
I’m very excited because last week I broke my all time sales goal! I sold $669! This is after hostess credits and customer discounts (I give customers a discount in their birth month). My goal is to be a Star this quarter. I want to start the year right and I’m on the right path!
I was queen of sales at my meeting this past Monday as a result of my sales! It was funny. I got to wear the little tiara that our directors have for the top seller each week. Fun times! It was a great pick me up, too, because I was having a difficult week in my personal life. All is well now.

I sold a foundation today and have an oil mattifier to deliver tomorrow! I’m planning to make this a $300 week when it’s all said and done!
I got a new fishbowl out today! And it is the last week of my job and first week of my new one!
I have a potential booking. I’m going to close the deal tomorrow! Also, I think I may have sold my first Bella Belara!
OK. I have a facial tentatively scheduled for next week. I also have a double facial (soon to be class) in the scheduling process! Yea! I’ve also received a $40.00 order today! Woo woo woo!!!

Thanks! I am delivering an order today and I’m making Breast Cancer Awareness packets with the breast exam shower card. I’m going to give them to the girls at the eye doc today.
Today I got an email from a friend of mine. She forwarded an email from a mutual friend–she was looking for me because she needs moisturizer! Now, I have been keeping her on my mailing list and sending her emails about promotions I’m doing from time to time, but she still has my maiden name website and email address. She emailed our mutual friend who forwarded to me.
So, I’ve emailed her back my updated info, what I’ve been up to, asked how she has been, and to verify her contact info. I am hoping for another booking soon!
Lesson learned: FOLLOW UP! 
OK. More great news! I’m up to $117 in orders for the week! Yea! I have 4 tentative bookings which are going to become solid real soon!
OK. A customer had emailed that she needed Age-Fighting Moisturizer, but now that she has gone online and ordered, she did get some other things! That makes my new total $162! Yea! I have 3 days to make it a $300 week! Star Week!
Today is getting better and better–and mind you I have not gotten up from my desk at the J-O-B once! I have another booking (2 actually) in the making and 3 people interested in Bella!
I called my friend who placed her order yesterday. I asked if she wants me to just mail her order to her (she lives an hour or so away from me). She said that’s fine and she would like to have a party!!! Yea!
So, when I call her back next week to confirm receipt of her order, we’ll book!
OH! I have more–and by the way, I’m getting lonely on this thread! Anyone else have some great news to share???
I got a call at work from a colleague. She asked if it was me and I said yes. She asked if I still sell MK and I said yes! AND she wanted my new contact info (my name has changed since I got married) and she wants to place an order. So, I emailed her my new website and email info and sent her The Look through inter-office mail. Woo hoo! I’m on fire this week! Just gotta keep up the momentum!!!!

I have a new local power partner! Yea! Her focus is car qualification and my focus is DIQ and car qualification! We are doing a booth event in December. Can’t wait! It’s at a mall in her area. We are in the same unit, but live kinda far apart. I am going to contact local malls and businesses to see about doing additional booths around here. The booth even we have set up right now is over an hour away from me. I don’t mind though. I think nationally.
Had my facial today! Looks like it’s going to be a Grand Day! No, not a $1,000 day. Here in my neck of the woods, we refer to a Grand Day as a $100 day. My customer wants the Basic and some color for her upcoming trip. Her order is a little over $100. She wants to look at the catalog a bit to finalize her color choices and then we will finalize. I’m psyched!
AND a former hostess from last year found me on Facebook and mentioned she wants to order some things. Exciting stuff!
Delivered some products to my facial customer. $100 exactly! AND she wants to order some more things when she gets back from her trip. We’re going to set up a class so she can get some free stuff! I’m stoked!

My order arrived yesterday with some of the new lipstick shades. I love the new look of the lipsticks. My mom was impressed, too. I had intended on trying Nutmeg out, but guess what, my mom bought it! So, yay me for the sale! Wish I’d ordered 2!
I saw nutmeg, but it looked too dark for me and didn’t try it on…what foundation does she use, and how did it look?! Has anyone tried Rich Fig? It looks beautiful, but I haven’t seen it on anyone yet! (and it also looks too dark for me…I use Ivory 204)

My mom wears Beige 302. I am Ivory 104. I can get away with darker shades sometimes. I have samples of Nutmeg and Rich Fig. I like both. I’m going to be doing some experimenting this weekend!
A color tip: If you are high contrast, meaning, light complexion with dark hair and dark eyes, you can get away with more dramatic color choices. If you are low contrast (light skin, light hair; dark skin, dark hair) your options become more limited.
Robert Jones is coming to my state in the near future. I’m going to see what I can do about attending his workshop. I love learning about color techniques!
I love Nutmeg… I also thought it would be too dark, but it doesn’t go on that dark on me:) I also really like Rich Fig~~although it is DARK! I wear it with my director’s suit (goes really well with the Sugarberry gloss on top).
Many people can wear darker lipsticks than they think… it is a matter of having a light hand when applying and using a gloss over

Hi guys! I had a very exciting class on Monday night - 7 girls and $595 in sales!
And that is after the $40 hostess gift and one girl didn’t buy a thing… so product value was $635. Which beats my other highest-ever sales for a class of $630.. lol. Usually my classes aren’t nearly that hight. And yes, I sometimes do facials/classes where I sell a lipstick or mascara. 
Oh… I forgot to mention, everything sold at that class was skin care, which I think is a first for me whenever I have high sales. I was more proud of that than the $ amount.
That’s great work, Jennifer! Thank you for sharing! My sales are primarily skin care. I sell very little glamor–however, that may change with these new mineral products!

Eyeshadows last foooreeeverrr! hehe. If you are wanting to do more color sales with the new products, holding a color-only class is fun (with current customers who already use the skin care). Cathy Goff-Brummet has an awesome outline for that, if you need it I’ve got it.

Got an email from my director yesterday forwarded from one of our unit members who needs help with an event tomorrow! She volunteered to provide the makeup for 86 kids for some kind of show at the local theater! She needs HELP! It’s a great opportunity because 86 kids have MOMS! So, it should be a great way to get some new leads. So far, three of us will be providing the service. I think it will be OK. I have a feeling some of the moms will want to do their own kids’ makeup. I did a fasion show at a store a few years ago and it was pretty much the same set up. Some wanted me to do the makeup and I said if I have their permission I would do it. It’s no different from the volunteers we used to have backstage for my dance recitals way back when. Also, I know what colors NOT to put onstage! (Blue eye shadow is a BIG DON’T and red lipstick is a HUGE NO-NO!) Anyway, it’s going to be crazy, but I’m looking forward to it! Of course I’ll post my experience!

Ah…this is one reason why I don’t like the flip chart and I don’t use it (maybe it’s also because I joined during a period when they didn’t even offer flip charts). I’ve done teen groups on occasion.
I basically talk about the importance of taking care of one’s skin and starting early. I also show them acne treatment products.
Some key points to mention about Velocity is that it has a light, fresh fragrance. The cleanser contains exfoliants to remove dead skin cells. The moisturizer is extremely light and contains oil absorbers to help prevent breakouts.

She approached me a couple weeks ago and asked me about how to sign up after you have been inactive for more than a year (terminated). I gave her the scoop and then asked her if she is planning to sign up with her previous recruiter or director. She said NO! So I asked if she wants to sign up with me. She nodded, but said she is still thinking about it. I told her that is fine. I’ll answer any questions she has and just let me know what she decides.

I’ve been MIA. Work’s been just awful all week. I’ve been putting in extra hours at the office which has affected my time for MK. I have a few good leads from the festival I did over the weekend. I’m calling them in the morning on a break! I’ll let you all know what happens. Our unit is doing a booking challenge. We’re split into two teams. The team with more bookings by Monday gets treated to desserts by the other team.
I also conducted an interview yesterday. I think I’m going to see RED soon!

They want to buy 15 compacts filled with eye shadows and blush and lip stick. So I will let ya’ll know tonight after I have talked to her. This is another that came from the website. luv2tch, getting on the phone is huge. I have a terrible time with the phone. I am on the phone all day at my dreadful day job. The people I talk to are abhorable. It makes me not like people very much at all.
Not good in sales! BUT these people are not my customers. I just feel beat up and worn out at the end of the day and the last thing I want to do is get on phone calls. The good thing: at the festival I did get leads who WANT to schedule appointments and hear about the business. Today was so bad at my day job that I am ready to march in with a resignation letter on Monday!
Anyway, I digress. I will be making some calls tomorrow morning after my conference call with my NSD.

OK. I followed up with my hostess for this Saturday and she has rescheduled for August 9. She wants to round up her guests.
So, I made a few more phone calls. Got a lot of machines. Did NOT leave messages. I will just try them during the day tomorrow. I reached another one of my festival goers and she is now booked for this Saturday at noon as a single facial. We’ll see where it goes. She said she keeps to herself. I want to offer her a hostess bonus so if she loves the products I’m going to ask her about being a silent hostess at her work. I mentioned it to her briefly. Hopefully, that won’t intimidate her. I’ll follow up with her on Thursday or Friday to reconfirm.

Shades… You are rocking sister. That is great. That is what we have to do is to get on the phone and get over the fear. I saw a sign outside at the Calallen Baptist Church that read “Fear is something that has just not be prayed for yet”, so.
Anyway I met with the colonel of the dance team and she was excited. I was to take a another lipstick for her to look at and she couldn’t make it however she told me that she talked to her other officers and they were going to get the make up. I told her that when she was ready to order to call me.
Another note Dolly is going in right now at Brownsville and we will just get rain. So that is good. However not so good for the cotton farmers as the cotton has already bloomed. I want to say thanks for all the prayers they worked.

I had 4 guests at my meeting last Thursday night. OK, so it was my college aged daughter and 3 of her friends, but it was the first time the girls had had a makeover with MK. And they loved the way the skin care products and the mineral foundation made their faces feel.
Even though they are only 19 3 of them ordered the TimeWise and 1 ordered the Velocity. And also mineral powder foundation and eye makeup.
It was fun. I’m going to try to get a couple friends to come this week.

I figure this gives the hostess incentive and the people ordering incentive.
Shades…Hey I posted on my blog the answer about the book. It is “THE MARY KAY WAY.” Yes she wrote it and it is good. They did a new version for the 45th year so there are little extras in there. It just shows how we should run our business the way of the Golden Rule…I am rereading it. I just want to do this right so that is what I am trying to do. Well Have a GREAT DAY.
Well, I was getting my cell phone out of my purse to charge it for the night and lo and behold there was a voice mail! The number was one I did not recognize. When I checked the message it was a MK orphan! Lost her consultant and NEEDS her skin care! I will be calling her in the morning to arrange delivery after work! How’d she find me? Message said she got my card from someone at some event (maybe at my festival a couple weeks ago). Aaah…that’s nice work!
Shades that is great. I am telling you if we get our cards and names out there people will call. I think that it doesn’t matter if we are doing something toward our business, it will come back. It is like the sowing and reaping in the Word. Just my opinion. However that is GREAT.Have a GREAT DAY

I handed out my card today and a few samples. I’m very excited about the possibilities. The girl is going to pass my card to her friend who wants to hold a class! Here’s hoping!

I met my new customer face to face. Delivered her products and gave her a mineral makeup sample. Invited her to our Monday night event, but I’m not sure she’ll go. I’m adding her to my mailing list.
By sheer coincidence I ran into a former team member. She became inactive sometime last year. She contacted me earlier this year to sign again and we didn’t coordinate. Today she said she’s ready and email her the agreement! I told her about the current promotion offered by the company and she’s excited about that. I think I’m going to be wearing red soon!
Shades…that is GREAT!! Well, I have a bit of disappointing news. The dance team that I met with decided that they were not going to get the compacts. The girl emailed me and I told her that was ok and please don’t be sorry. I also told her that if she ever would like to try other MK products please don’t hesitate to call. So I will keep on working I know that this can work and I will work it.

I have some good news! I booked a class for September 13. It’s a ways off, but it could be promising.
Also, I may have a guest tonight. I sent a postcard to a customer inviting her. I wasn’t sure she’d even get it before today (I mailed it Saturday). I saw her number in my caller ID so I will call her back and find out.
Made some phone calls and that didn’t go over so well this afternoon. Will try later. Emailed an existing customer about referrals and we are going to try a Virtual Hostess approach! Hopefully, this will go well. Wish me luck!
UPDATE: got a callback from one of the numbers that was no answer. I now have 4 guests scheduled for tomorrow night! Woot woot!
All this while sitting at home sick with a migraine. I guess there is an upside to migraines after all.
Had my meeting. On my lunch break I called to confirm my guests. I left a message instructing to just leave me a message whether they were coming. Message was one person, “I’ll be there.”

Got to meeting and I had three guests! Two want to sign up!
I did the skin care class for guests. Impromptu. It went well.
Shades… That is WONDERFUL NEWS. Wow, I am proud of you. I am still thinking on the affrimations and will post them. You are doing GREAT and are on your way to becoming a DIRECTOR.

I suffer from cerebral vascular headaches and they are a killer when I have them! Although they happen less frequently as the years have passed-thank goodness! Hormone related I was told. Take care of you so you can give of yourself to others. The calls can wait ’till you are better. Be kind to thyself!

The other thing that happened was at work today a caller on the line was someone I actually know! I asked her if she takes dance classes and she said yes and I told her who I am and she said, “are you still a MK lady?” and I said YES! As a matter of fact I’m doing more with my business now than I ever have in the past. She said, “well this is perfect because I need a Basic!” Aaaw yea!!
Shades… You are rocking sister. I am telling you that you are going to move up and with consultants that want a better way of life. I am so excited for you. WOW. I know that if you put forth the effort and plant those seeds and water them every once and a while they will come back I sometimes thing when we lest expect it. Just got back from meeting! Signed my team member! Now, here’s the fun part. I invited another customer to attend as my guest. I left her a message a few days ago. Told her bring a friend for Trading Faces. Never heard back and didn’t have a chance to call her. Pleasant surprise: She was there! With a guest! Three guests for me 2 weeks in a row! WOO HOO!
AND my customer asked a ton of questions about being a consultant so we will see where this leads. I think she is coming back next week.
Just went to the cafeteria at lunch and the ladies who prepare the food saw my pin and recognized me as the MK Lady! Got an order for 2 concealers, Journey fragrance, and Harmony (hope I can find one, we’ll see). What fun!
Yesterday I took my car for an oil change. I use that PCP gift from a few quarters back as my wallet. It’s the lipstick case that holds a lipstick, liner, gloss, and lip primer and also has a place to keep credit/debit/ID cards. The girl that rang me up complimented that thing and said she could use something like that. So…I asked her if she wanted one.
And invited her to our guest event this week. She can’t go cuz she has to work, but she gave me her number so I can invite her in the future. Nice. 
Shades….That is one way that we can get people talking and it is not actually warm chattering because she asked you. That is great. You are shaking and a movin. Keep up the good work.

This week is shaping up to be quite a week! It started with having 3 guests at my event Tuesday. I have 9 faces toward a power start right now. My 30 days will be up on September 19.
I sold some lipsticks at the event and booked a class for the 20.
I sold a Basic!
I already have a class booked for September 13, and today I was informed by the hostess that we seem to have a FULL HOUSE! I asked how many that means. She said her mom has invited a few friends, so it’s looking like a dozen people!
On Thursday, my newest team member signed up. Today I took her her pin and a little something (mineral powder brush) as a thank you for signing. She immediately announced to all present in her office, “Hey! I sell Mary Kay now! I SELL MARY KAY!”
Think she’s excited? I sure am!
I am getting ready for my large appointment at 3:30. I need to pick up some cupcake trays or something for the mineral powder. I hope the rain dies down soon. I need to leave in 30 minutes! I’m doing a lipstick class because I’m expecting anywhere from 9 to a dozen! Too many for skin care. I’m going to do this lipstick class and book smaller skin care groups from the appointment. Unfortunately, I have to limit what I’m taking with me product-wise due to all this rain. I don’t want it getting all wet. Wish me luck! If all goes well, I will write about it (I’ll probably write about it if it doesn’t go well, too; but it’s going to be a smashing success).

It turned out to be a great class! Four guests total (plus hostess) attended. I decided to do skin care instead of the lipstick party because I do those best anyway.
So…the results were:
Total Sales = $294
New Bookings = 2
New Faces = 4
Company Info = 1
Basics Sold = 3
Miracle Sets Sold = 1
Referrals = 16!!!!

This morning I had to get gas for my car. The card readers were down. I had to go inside and prepay. I’m wearing my pin. The girl at the counter asked me how MK is working for me. I told her it’s working well for me. She said she’s been thinking about doing something like it for awhile, but wants to see if it is worth it for her. I asked her if she is busy this evening and invited her to our guest event.
We’ll see where it goes.
Keep us posted! Going about, doing the everyday things we all have to do, is one of the greatest ways to get leads that I know of! Doing my daily business (not MK, but LIFE) gets me out of the house and in front of real people and therefore, with someone who just might NEED what I have to offer!
Thanks! This is so true. My director is always saying go INSIDE at the bank. Don’t pay at the pump. I have never really made an effort to do these things, but after today, I may have to start listening to that piece of advice.
It’s especially exciting when I don’t have to say anything at all. I just wear my pin and let them ask. 
Make sure you have a few samples in your purse also! I know when I go in my bank, the ladies LOVE getting the newest goodie (right now I am giving the new fragrance samplers… and taking orders as they smell
)

Hee Hee.. I gave one of the samples to a swim team mom who I have been trying to book…. She is “too busy”, but used MK years ago when her mom was consultant. Yesterday, when I quickly handed her the sample as we passed each other on the walkway at the pool, she said, “Does MK still have that Satin Lips stuff?” My answer: “Of course” She says: ” I NEED it!” I replied: “Do you want me to bring it back when I pick my son up?” Yes…sale…profile card FINALLY filled out and potential booking for next week!

I haven’t been on here very much lately. I’ve been trying to rest. Fatigue has me down and out at the moment. Yesterday I was home sick with migraine and fatigue. I got a $103 order via the internet! Woo hoo!
I like that things still move even when I can’t.
I have facials scheduled tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday!

Well, I have been MIA for the past couple of weeks. Busy with MK, work, and dealing with migraines. I’ll be back soon! Anyway, I did have some good things happen. I had a $70 facial last weekend! Yesterday I had an appointment with a new doctor. I had to have some blood work. The lab tech noticed my bag (carry your tote!) and asked if I sell Avon. I said no, I sell Mary Kay. Her face lit up and she said she has been looking for me! LOL She said she loves Mary Kay. I asked her if she needs a consultant. She does. Hers quit. So, I got a new customer! I love that I can just carry a bag or wear a pin and get new business — even when I don’t feel well.

Hey luv2tch…I’m baaaaaaaack!!! LOL I signed a new team member this week. She is very excited and has lots of great ideas! I’ll be writing daily this month!
I have a facial booked for tomorrow night! I wasn’t back from CC 24 hours when I got a call from a customer with whom I’ve been playing phone tag for months! She needs a basic and foundation so we’re going to do a facial because I think things have changed since she’s last used the products.
If I make it to work today (I have a horrible migraine) I have a delivery to make there and hope to turn that into an appointment as well.
Finally, I have some people to call and invite to an eye makeup class we’re doing this weekend. Fun stuff!
I’m very excited because last week I broke my all time sales goal! I sold $669! This is after hostess credits and customer discounts (I give customers a discount in their birth month). My goal is to be a Star this quarter. I want to start the year right and I’m on the right path!
I was queen of sales at my meeting this past Monday as a result of my sales! It was funny. I got to wear the little tiara that our directors have for the top seller each week. Fun times! It was a great pick me up, too, because I was having a difficult week in my personal life. All is well now.
