This week was so exciting for me! I broke my all time weekly personal sales record! My previous best week was in the neighborhood of $420. This week, I sold $669! This is my total after hostess bonuses and customer discounts! I moved about $700 of retail product! What is very exciting was that I tracked my sales. I set a goal and I tracked it and…I exceeded my goal! My goal for this week was $500. I met my goal and surpassed it!

Newfound Inspiration

This week I found new inspiration for my business. It’s July and I want to start this year off right. I want to be a four quarter star this year among other goals. We had a great training session! My friend trained on booking, but what she really trained on is how she talks to people. She’s a brand new director. She’s been in MK since May 2008. Yes. Just over a year and she has been a director for 4 months! She has no fear, but she is so down to earth and real I love listening to her teach at our events. She’s an inspiration to me. After listening to her I feel less fearful.

It’s a new sales year in the business world and I’m determined to kick this year off right. I have made goals for 2009-2010. My biggest goal is to be a Star every quarter. I’m on the right track so far. I have 2 appointments on July 11, and one so far on the 18th. I’m working with my hostesses to ensure they all hold. I want to earn car status by December and submit DIQ in January. Those are my goals. If I can be a Star every quarter I can reach those goals I am sure. Continue Reading »

I want to wish everyone a happy and safe Independence Day! This is one of my favorite holidays! It’s summertime, it’s warm, and it’s just a lot of fun. My birthday falls on the 3rd so I treat it as an extension of that, too. hehehe
Anyway, enjoy your holiday, everybody!

School is back in! The next several weeks at my local meetings are going to consist of training focused on advanced color. Last week was our first class which was all about foundation, concealer, and highlighting. Some information was not news to me while other information was fascinating. It’s exciting to learn real application techniques that I can teach other women who have the types of issues these tricks to address. Continue Reading »

I’ve been playing with the color quad GWS from last year. In case you don’t remember, it consisted of Silky Caramel, Lemongrass, Amber Blaze, and Denim Frost. This week, mk4me posted pics of her daughter’s prom makeup over on Balanced. It inspired me to try something. Continue Reading »

Lashes & Lunch

Here is a fun event idea that units have been doing where I live. It’s been mainly my director’s unit and her senior director’s unit, but we have a lot of fun with it and guests LOVE it! We call it Lashes & Lunch. These events are typically held on Saturday mornings from 10:00 - noon. Guests get an indepth eye color class. We begin with brief skin care followed by mineral powder foundation or liquid if it is preferred. Then, we have a licensed beautician teach a fun application class on, get this, false lashes! As cheesy as false lashes might sound, you would be surprised at how fun people think it would be to try them! Continue Reading »

Satellite Education Events

Back in February, I attended a new form of education being implemented by Corporate known as Satellite Education Event (SEE). I can’t believe I didn’t write about it here! It was quite good! I got a local buddy to ride with me that Saturday morning. It was held on Valentine’s Day of all days, but no matter. I wasn’t doing anything at 11:00 that morning and it was something new. Basically, corporate was broadcasting live, via satellite to 200 theaters across the nation. The event was to run from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. CST. In case you missed it, I’m in the Eastern Time Zone so that was 11:00 a.m. here.
There was one broadcast so those on the West Coast had it kind of rough. They had to be there at 8:00 a.m. What troopers! Continue Reading » -

Good news! I figured out how to retrieve your comments and was able to put them each back on the site! My comments were not stored because I’m usually logged in when I post them, but that is OK. I improvised where necessary, but just left most of mine off. I’m just happy I can put everyone else’s comments back on here. Yay!

Technical Difficulties

There was a glitch on the blog earlier today. The site was down. It turned out to be a glitch in the server transition. Today was the official switch from server 1 to server 2. The problem is fixed now, but everything I wrote since April 7, was lost. Thankfully, it was still stored in Google Reader and cache. I was able to repost what I’d written; but unfortunately all the comments were lost.
Hopefully, that will be the last time this happens. Many apologies to those who posted comments.
