Adoptee Program
- February 16th, 2011

It’s been a long time since I’ve written anything. I know. I’m not gone. I’m still around! I’ve relocated to a different state! Life has brought many changes this past year. In relocating, I have been able to experience the adoptee program that Mary Kay offers firsthand! What a wonderful program! I have been connected with a great group of ladies down here. My new director is funny and sweet. The ladies in the unit are very welcoming. One of them even went so far to send me a welcome card! She included some postcards I can modify for inviting guests to our meetings. So Go-Give!
So far, I have attended 3 meetings since I’ve been here. I even had a guest for the first one! I’ve been meeting a lot of people here and my boyfriend has helped with that a lot. He is very supportive of everything I do. He even came with me to one of my meetings and he thought it was a great thing. It is so nice to have so much support at home.
I’m back, by the way. I’m going to be blogging more regularly and the direction of this site is going to evolve. It’s going to be about a broader spectrum of subject matter. More to come!

Age-Fighting Foundation is Here!

So, I *finally* got the new foundations and foundation primer from Mary Kay®. I am happy to report that the conversion chart I followed to find the right shade was accurate. The Ivory 3 in the new age-fighting stuff is pretty much identical to Ivory 104 in the previous formula. I’m happy that, at this point, the medium-coverage foundations are stickin’ around. I touch up with Ivory 202 so I don’t look red in the cheeks. One less change I have to make!
The new primer wasn’t what I was expecting. It’s a clear gel-like substance. It goes on smoothly and doesn’t require much at all. I think it does help foundation go on better, but I think I put too much primer on because I can sort of see it by my eyes. Weird. I’ll see what I can do to fix that tomorrow.
Overall, I’m happy with these new products. The foundation feels very light. I think it’s definitely a lighter feel than the full-coverage foundation it is replacing. I love that the Time Wise™ complex is in it!

An Itch to Knit

Around 10 years ago I took up knitting. In the beginning it was just scarves made by the classic knit stitch and purl stitch. Eventually, I learned socks. Then I met someone who didn’t approve of knitting (or anything else I did) so I got away from it. Now I want to finish some of these projects I started all those years ago. I’m really proud of this baby sock. lol Let me add, that it’s a baby sock because when I took the class all those years ago, we made baby socks so that we could learn all the steps in a timely manner. Getting Back in the Game

Well, I will be attending my first meeting in a long time tonight and I’m excited. I have guests! Even if that falls through I need the meeting so I can get my focus back. It will be good to see everyone again and to see what’s new with products and the company. I’ve kept up somewhat, but I have really just been focusing on other things since last October. Now that things are finally calming down I can focus on doing the things I enjoy again! More to come!

Coming Back

Well, I think it has been almost a year since I’ve written anything on here! I had to take a break for awhile. There was a lot going on in my personal life and I needed to get my strength and health back. I am now back to my old self and ready to get my business back on track! Fortunately, even though I wasn’t holding any appointments or actively pursuing new customers, my business managed to stay afloat. I have enough of a loyal customer base that I could stay active on a quarterly basis at the very least.
There are going to be more updates on here in the very near future and I am so excited to get my business moving again! That’s all for now since it is getting late and I am a bit exhausted. I’ll be posting more very soon! -

Wow! It’s been awhile since I’ve written anything! Well, I’ve been busy. Busy with my regular job, busy with sales, and busy with life. I wanted to take an opportunity to share where I’m at with my goal for this quarter. After Seminar, I decided to be a four quarter star this year. I got off to a great start in June and July! August was very slow. Now I’m picking up the pieces as we approach the end of Quarter 1. Continue Reading »

This evening I finally finished tallying up my July sales total. Yea, I know, it took me long enough! I am please to report I was right. I did hit $1200. I exceeded $1200! I didn’t exceed by a landslide, but I definitely cleared $1200 in retail sales for July and I am so happy! My official total was $1226.50! Woo hoo!

Head Table is Nice

Once a month our unit joins forces with five or six other area units for a monthly Power Up event. This is a big training and recognition event held at a local hotel. The six or seven directors sit at a head table to conduct the meeting. Consultants are recognized for moving up the career path, weekly sales totals, monthly sales totals, etc. The newest thing they are doing is giving consultants who sell at least $1200 retail in one month a place at the head table amongst the directors. This month, I had a spot! I felt a little bad because life’s been hectic and I haven’t finished counting up all my sales from July yet. I know I hit $1200, though because I was over $1100 when I stopped counting. I gave my word I could vouch for $1200 and I got a place at the table! It was fun to be up there, however, because of my hearing loss, I had trouble hearing the training when directors were facing toward the “audience” in front. Bummer. I will get my sales all tallied up and share them in the future!

Tonight at my meeting I couldn’t believe my luck! I arrived a little late because although I was off all day, I slept way in and I had been trying to get products together for a customer who wanted them for her trip. She leaves in the morning so I had to act fast! Fortunately, someone could front me the products because my order isn’t here yet and she was so happy I could personally deliver them to her. She doesn’t live very close to me. I normally mail her orders to her, but this was a special circumstance and I am more than happy to accommodate in these situations. Continue Reading »
