Thanks for your feedback, Sherrie! I agree. It had to be the hummus. Like you, I started breaking out in hives almost immediately. My reaction was not nearly as bad as you described. I am glad you are OK. I now stay away from Sabra hummus and stick to home made.

TRUST ME! It was the hummus! I had the SABRA roasted pine nut last night...(why i found this thread) and it nearly put me in the emergency room!
Started with SEVERE itching palms and the soles of my feet, then I could literally watch welts forming under my arms, huge welts, then my hands and feet swelled, and my eyes started swelling. THANK GOD I had Benadryl! Keep this in your cabinets! I started having trouble breathing and just knew that I was ER bound, because they can't give you CPR if your throat is swollen, they have to give you a trach! I know, I had a reaction to medicine years ago and the DR read me the riot act. This wasn't as severe as that, I think, because I started the Benadryl right away! The rash is almost gone this morning, but my hands, feet and eyes are still swollen! My sister said that many people are allergic to Tahini, or the sesame paste...though they can still eat the seeds. WISH I KNEW THE INGREDIENT that does this!!! =0(

I'm taking a break from this project until I can hopefully get another skein of the yarn. And I hope the next skein won't be such a tangly disaster!

Hi Elaine, I have to go with the hummus on this because I certainly was not on antibiotics at the time. Not sure why you're posting that on here.

Is it the hummus? Was anyone taking BACTRIM or BIAXIN antibiotic while eating this stuff or is it the SABRA HUMMUS putting something in it that is causing this? Anyone???

I just had the Greek Olive Sabra hummus and had an anaphalactic reaction. I took benadryl, then used the Epi-pen and called 911. It was a very unpleasant experience and took a few days for the swelling to go down. I've never had a reaction like this before and now I need to get to the bottom of what caused this. But that's it for Sabra for me.

Hi newmkgirl! Sorry for the delay. I hope you are doing well with your college work and business! Did you make star consultant? If you are consistently holding appointments (as little as one or two per week) you can easily be a star consultant. Consistency has always been my challenge. I'm getting back into the swing of things now after going through some personal issues. I'm glad you enjoy the blog and thank you for reading!

Hi Shades...I originally remember your name from the balanced MK website. I was reading some of your older posts and you are really inspiring. I am trying do to MK part time around going to school full time...22 credit hours, and being a single mom for the next year (hubby deployed right now). Any advice? Did you start out part time? I have a few facials on the books this month but I really want to be a Star consultant this up and coming quarter. Thanks for your blog!
