BIDIA

The directors in my immediate area are always giving us a challenge called “BIDIA.” So what the heck is “BIDIA”??? I will tell you. Have you ever had a moment when you felt like you really need to talk to someone who’s in front of you or call a customer you’ve lost touch with; but you really don’t want to? Finally, you decided to just do it. That’s “BIDIA.” It stands for, “But I Did It Anyway.”

This is my BIDIA page. Anytime we just give ourselves that extra push to just DO something anyway, this is the place to post it! :)

I just saw this and love it! I will have to keep track of those BIDIA’s.

OK. I have one! Today, I didn’t feel like getting all dressed up. I didn’t want to put on my full face. Would have rather thrown on some jeans than a skirt. But I Did It Anyway! LOL I got dressed up. I talked to my work friend about her appointment. I hate talking MK when I look like crap. I will be doing more BIDIA’s soon. Watch out! ;)

Today I decided to pass out my Back to School fliers. I didn’t feel like it. It’s later than I wanted to do it and the deadline to order is 9/15. I was gonna just say, eh, next year. Then, I decided, But I’ll Do It Anyway! Oh the results! Everyone is going to order something so far! I’m going to mail a couple to some people as well! :)

  5. mkrules says:

Shades, You rule! I am going to go around to several restaurants tomorrow to set up some snack and smooth parties for the employees. Yep, I REALLY don’t feel like it, but I want the results. I wanna go diq by NOV 1!!!!

  6. shadesofpink says:

MKR–You can SO do that! :D

I’m going to post this here. As you know, the PCP mailings went out and customers are beginning to receive them. I always mail the most Look Books during this quarter for obvious reasons (holidays). This morning at work, our cleaning lady stopped and said the usual friendly hello. As she was getting ready to move on to the next cubicle she said, “oh, by the way, I got your book! I saw some things in there I liked. I’ll let you know soon what I want to order.” :D The lesson: don’t take anyone off of your PCP mailing list! You never know when they are going to contact you for an order. She ordered a Journey perfume a few years ago from me. We’ve had a good relationship over the years that I’ve worked there. I always send her the Look. I don’t press her for a sale. And now I am so glad I didn’t remove her (I’d considered it just because I wasn’t even sure she’d gotten the books since she got married). So, I’m going to also say lesson #2: don’t be afraid to ask! Now, I will be obligated to bring up MK once in awhile–repeat once in awhile–to keep her informed and to keep myself informed of her needs.

  8. shadesofpink says:

Oh! I forgot to add: I wasn’t going to send Look Books out to so many people this time around…,

    But I Did It Anyway!!!!

  9. shadesofpink says:

I have this customer who orders from me once or twice a year. Back in June or July she called and placed her order. For whatever reason, I couldn’t connect with her to make the delivery. Then my husband’s grandfather passed away and then my uncle passed away and things were just downright rough. I am guessing this woman has found a new consultant because I have been so awful these past few months while dealing with issues. I’d been meaning to call her to see if she still needs the products, but have been afraid of what might happen (rejection). Today, I didn’t really want to call her, But I Did It Anyway!!!

Well, as soon as she picked up, luck would have it, I introduced myself and the call disconnected. Now, she might have hung up on me, but my phone had zero bars. So, I called right back and got voice mail and left an apologetic message, told her my phone died just as she had picked up. Apologized for being out of touch and that I would still like her business. I also offered a discount on her next order. Now, hopefully, she will call me back!!

Okay, I had one this weekend:

I had a BIG holiday show scheduled, but I had the flu (as did my entire family), BUT I put on those pumps and skirt (er…barely remembered the blouse…ha ha). Packed up the car and went anyway and topped off a phenomenal week! Yay to a Grand week…

  11. shadesofpink says:

    Yea, Kahni! You’re awesome!!

  12. kahni says:

Awwww gawrsh, Shades! Thanks - Just trying to keep up with you and MKRules! :) You youngsters are my my heroes…

  13. shadesofpink says:

Well, I think this best belongs here. I hate making booking calls and I’m pretty sure I’ve emphasized that in the past. Today I forced myself to call a customer that I wanted to book for my 30 in November. So, I didn’t wanna call anyone, But I Did It Anyway. She doesn’t want to book anything until after Christmas. No biggie. We had a nice chat. Her daughter is in college now and she said she’ll see if her daughter wants to do anything this month. Either way, it will get done. So, I’ll be calling her again when the next set of Look Books go out! :D

  14. shadesofpink says:

Didn’t feel like making booking calls (do I ever???), But I Did It Anyway! No major breakthroughs at this time. I think Saturday afternoon was not the best time for phone calls. I did talk to two ladies interested in booking. I have to call them back on Monday. I think I’ll do a “Power Hour” Monday evening when I get home from class. Most of my leads want to be called in the evening. Also, my datebook will be arriving on Monday. It would help to have that for bookings! I lost my mind in December and forgot to include one in my order!

  15. shadesofpink says:

Guess what? I hate making phone calls. I never feel like doing it (is this my mantra or what?), But I Did It Anyway! I made 5 phone calls. Left one message for my guest tomorrow. Really hoping she still plans to come. Talked to 3 ladies who all want to hold appointments…in March. Talked to one husband who said I can reach his wife at the end of the week. All in all, not a disaster. I am giving it a rest for tonight. I will make more calls Wednesday. Tomorrow is my meeting so I am not expecting to have time for phone calls. :D

  16. Shades of Pink says:

I’ve been putting off my phone calls forever! Tonight I finally got on the phone! No bookings so far. I have one who wants to book something when her new house is ready. It’s being built. Hopefully, that will be soon, but she kept my number and said she thinks a makeup party/housewarming kind of thing would be fun! AND her new house is going to be literally around the corner from me. Now that would be cool to have a customer that close! I’m so glad I called her anyway!

  17. SkinCareMom says:

Cool! And when you get your display set up in your home you can invite her to see what is available ;)

  18. kare says:

I didn’t want to make phone calls the other night…but I did. Unfortunately, I got all answering machines, but I did make the calls! That counts for something, right? Going to try again in a coupl of days. :)

  19. Shades of Pink says:

That certainly counts for something! I got a few machines myself and I left messages. If I don’t hear back in a few days, I’ll call again a different night of the week. :) Good job! Just doing it gets you in the habit of contacting customers.

  20. Shades of Pink says:

I got around to making phone calls I’ve been putting off (so what else is new?). Didn’t feel like it. Have a migraine. It’s a nice day. Blah blah blah…BUT I did it anyway! So, it was not too successful. Got one machine and one hang up. I think the hang up may have been an accident so I’m going to try again later. She did enter my drawing tell me she wants to try the products and I would like to give her a free gift. So, perhaps this could turn around in the right direction!

  21. Pink Biz says:

BIDIA! Great job! Hey, I commend you for doing it when you didn’t really feel that well. Phone calls will not always be successful when made, but doing the work shows determination and discipline. YOU did that! Inch by inch, life is a cinch! Read that on the inspirational video link I posted just yesterday. I am a firm believer that we HAVE TO HAVE inspiration to boost us on a daily basis. Otherwise, the humdrum of daily living lends itself to not perservering. :)
