Newfound Inspiration

This week I found new inspiration for my business. It’s July and I want to start this year off right. I want to be a four quarter star this year among other goals. We had a great training session! My friend trained on booking, but what she really trained on is how she talks to people. She’s a brand new director. She’s been in MK since May 2008. Yes. Just over a year and she has been a director for 4 months! She has no fear, but she is so down to earth and real I love listening to her teach at our events. She’s an inspiration to me. After listening to her I feel less fearful. :)

Anyway, She started off by saying she had a weak June. She said the unit did fine, but she didn’t meet her personal goals because she was focused on her birthday (she had a party) and she was planning her upcoming vacation. So, she kind of had MK on the backburner and totally admitted this which was very cool.

She said how she loves her senior (my director). Last week her senior asked her how many guests she had for meeting and my friend had no guests. So my director said, “oh, well…I guess you’ll be working on guests for next Monday then.” And my friend was like yea. And then she was like, I need to do a Power Start before I leave for vacation on July 13! So, she is booked solid and this is what she did:

Her goal is to give out 10 cards per day. She gives out 10 cards and gets info back. She makes and excuse to talk to people. She was an RN so she studies people and decides what she is going to say before she says it. She picks something to compliment them about and based on their reaction she talks. She always has samples. She gives them a product sample and tells them she will call them to get their opinion. She calls that day or the next day to follow up.

She multiple books. This doesn’t mean booking the classes at the same time. She books them for the same day, but sets it up so if they all hold she can do them all. She books 2-3 per day. She said for example, today she had a morning appt., and afternoon appt., and she had 5 guests booked for tonight’s meeting. 1 guest showed tonight, but she still had her appointments earlier. (I book this way, too–I’m booked this way on Saturday)

OK. That’s not all.

My director’s senior also taught. And she is awesome. She talked about how it’s not about your ability, but your will and your want. ;) She said you can think in your head a million reasons why you *can’t* do something, but that is just wrong and selling yourself short. I can’t even word it was eloquently as she did. But she said if you want it you can find a way to do it. I can relate it to myself. A lot of the directors who trained on their selling and booking achievments talked about how they hold their appointments at their own homes. Well, Hubby would have a conniption fit if I did that. I could argue that I *can’t* ever make court of sales or be a director because I can’t do appointments at home. As SD would say, “that’s bunk!” LOL I just have to find another way to do it! ;) It was awesome. I am so inspired. I am so inspired to start this new Seminar year off on the right foot that I know I can do it! I have 3 parties booked this month. My goal is to book 3 more and hold them all before I leave for Dallas and book at least one for when I get back and I’ll be set for July!
