Repeat Performance

Tonight at my meeting I couldn’t believe my luck! I arrived a little late because although I was off all day, I slept way in and I had been trying to get products together for a customer who wanted them for her trip. She leaves in the morning so I had to act fast! Fortunately, someone could front me the products because my order isn’t here yet and she was so happy I could personally deliver them to her. She doesn’t live very close to me. I normally mail her orders to her, but this was a special circumstance and I am more than happy to accommodate in these situations. (more…)

Party with a Purpose

At Seminar it was announced that the new focus of appointments is not skin care classes. We’re partying it up! LOL The philosophy is that people are having butter and hot dog parties so they may need one of our parties! Party with a Purpose works on so many levels because we can benefit the Mary Kay Foundation, we help other women take care of their skin, we help them feel good about how they look, and we are building our businesses in the process! It’s all fun, too! So, today I had a party. It’s open through the end of the week, but so far sales are at $197! My hostess program is a SHOT at $100 and I’m going to write about that in the near future.
I met some new ladies and visited with my friend the hostess. It was so much fun and I am so happy I have tomorrow off because I am going to sleep most of the day. My chronic fatigue is flaring up like mad. I can’t complain, though. I’m being productive!

Back Home Back to Work

I’m home from Dallas and I have Monday off before returning to work which is good because I have a party scheduled for tomorrow and I cannot wait! My hostess is excited, too! I love that I have work lined up right when I get home. I scheduled this appointment before I left, but it still feels great! I have huge goals now that I’m home. I need to finish my Star! I’m close to halfway there right now. My sales goal for August is $2000 retail and 5-7 parties held! Can’t wait to get started!

Today was spent catching up with Hubby. That was nice. :) I had a great time at Seminar, but I am happy to be back home with my husband.

Awards Night

Today did not start off so great. Last night I didn’t sleep well. As a result, I woke with a bit of a headache that I did not want to have escalate to a full blown migraine. I decided to stay back at the hotel and rest. I looked over the class schedule and decided that the afternoon classes looked more interesting to me than the morning ones did anyway. One thing I really liked this year compared to the Seminar I attended five years ago is that our classes were split based not only on our career path level, but our number of years in the buisness. Hooray! Finally, I can go to a class and not hear the same tired things over and over and over and over! (more…)

Local Unit Awards Dinner

After all the opening Seminar festivities it was time to get ready for our local Future Area Awards Dinner. This is when our unit gets recognized for our accomplishments such as our unit’s Queens of Sales and Sharing and our Miss Go-Give Award. To be honest, I liked the food served at this dinner much better than the food at the dinner last night. Last night’s dinner made me a little ill. :( Tonight’s was better and the dessert was an excellent pecan pie! Yum! (more…)

Seminar: Day 1

Today was Day 1 of Seminar. They conducted the opening General Sessions for everyone. What is really great about this time around is that I’m in the arena! This is actually a fluke. Enrollment is lower than past years so there is room for all of us to fit in the arena this year so I don’t have to sit in Hall A. What a treat! My seat is higher up, but it’s really not that bad. I’m off to the side, but I can see the stage clearly. I’m close to the stage, just higher up. My back isn’t against the wall, either. The seats aren’t uncomfortable. They are typical theater seats if you ask me. I got some great pics with my phone and with my camera. What was really nice was that my friend had an extra seat by her because her husband didn’t attend the General Session so she said I could sit in his seat for the second half of the day. Her seat is close! She’s not on the floor, but one level up which isn’t bad at all. (more…)

Late Night

Tonight was our National Area Dinner. It ran late. It’s always inspiring to see my NSD and hear from all the high achievers in our area, but after a long day of touring it got to be a long evening of awards. My NSD is Kathy Helou and she is absolutely amazing. We are the #2 national area at this Seminar. The #1 area is the Gloria Mayfield Banks Area. Some highlights of tonight’s dinner were that the Director Queen of Personal Sales is from our area. She did just over $106,000 in personal sales! She accomplished this by doing fund raisers for the troops. Her son had been overseas in Iraq and that was what originally inspired her to do this last year. She was the Queen last year with just over $116,000! Now her son is finished serving his time, but she couldn’t stop the program she had begun so she continued on this year. It was quite an amazing story and she accomplished tremendous results! Another highlight was Kathy Helou’s younger daughter singing at the end of the evening. She has quite a voice. She’s very talented. This is all I can muster for tonight.

Seeing How It’s Made

The first thing I wanted to be sure to accomplish this trip to Seminar was seeing the manufacturing plant and corporate headquarters. My friend also had this goal. She had completely missed it the first time and ran out of time on her second trip. For her, I told her the third time’s a charm! Today we traveled to Addison!, TX to accomplish this mission. The reason I type “Addison!” is because every street sign in this town says, “Addison!” underneath the street name. I found it amusing. It must be a fun place to live. There are tons of restaurants in Addison! (more…)

Dallas Arrival

Tonight I arrived in Dallas for Seminar! It was one long flight down. Although I never left my plane, it made 2 stops along the way in Nashville and Houston. Why Houston I’ll never know! In total I sat on that plane for 6 hours! Fortunately, I was in good company as I had my friend and her husband as travel companions. :) (more…)

Queen of Sales!

Tonight at my meeting I was recognized for my awesome sales week! I was hoping I would be the “Queen” as we call it. I’ve never been the Queen before. I was sure someone might blow me out of the water with a $1000 sales week. Nope. There were two of us that had Star sales weeks (at least $300 retail sales) and I was ahead by about $145! At our meetings the Queen of Sales wears a little tiara. LOL It sounds silly and corny, but it’s fun. I got to wear the tiara. Not that I’m not used to it. I wore plenty of tiaras in my dancing days. Hehehe
