Just Playing with Color

I’ve been playing with the color quad GWS from last year. In case you don’t remember, it consisted of Silky Caramel, Lemongrass, Amber Blaze, and Denim Frost. This week, mk4me posted pics of her daughter’s prom makeup over on Balanced. It inspired me to try something.

MK4ME, you don’t know this, but your daughter gave me an idea. I don’t typically use black liner. I haven’t used it since leaving the world of dance and even then I only used it on stage, but I really liked the definition it gave her eyes when she added that to the blue liner. So, I tried it, too; but since she did it with the Coastal Colors, I wanted to implement it with a different look. So, I revisted those colors from last year.

I started with Vanilla Eyecicles® as I always do as a base. Then, I applied the Lemongrass to the entire lid. Next, I blended Amber Glaze to the middle lid to outer corner. I put Silky Caramel in the browline. I lined my eyes with Black liners. I only did the outler lashline so as not to create too harsh a line. Then I applied the Bahama Blue pencil. Next, I smudged in Denim Frost with the lash brush. I should add here that I used the eye definer for the Lemongrass, Amber Blaze, and Silky Caramel. I finished with Ultimate Mascara in Black. This was my result:

I like it. I think it makes a nice evening look for sure, but I am not above wearing it during the day. I may try it with either no liner or the Tahitian Gold liner underneath for a less dramatic lower lashline.

Looks great…. I love the defined look, but can’t use mascara or black liner :( so will have to play around with other ideas ;)

Hmmmm…I bet Steely would be a great alternative to Black. And if you can’t use mascara, can you curl your lashes? Curling can lengthen them, too, if it’s an option for you. :)

  5. SkinCareMom says:

yep…. Love steely! But right now I am using the Bahama Blue exclusively ;) Curl lashes sometimes ;) I need to get a new curler~~~the one I have been using is now destroyed!

That’s fine for day. I just ordered Silky Caramel myself. Cinnabar also for the crease. My eyebrows are way high up so I have lots of space to color in. lol

Hi Shades! So glad to visit again. I think the color mix looks marvelous. I need to try more color combos as I tend to use only my favorites on my eyes. I did step up this Spring and wore the coastal collection which was a beautiful change for me. I think I’m hooked to try more shadings now after seeing the pics here.

Hope you’re doing well, and wishing you a great finish to your year and a wonderful beginning to a New Mary Kay year just ahead! This is my (our) momentum month to get the ball rolling. I’m doing a large scc on June 27th to power up.

Hey Pink Biz! It’s great to hear from you again, too! I’ve been busy with all kinds of stuff lately. My business is picking up. I think this next year is going to be great! I have a spa day tomorrow and then I’m working with a bridal party on Sunday. My friend at work has asked me to do her makeup for her wedding and I’m so honored! The wedding is in August so we’re practicing and trying some colors out this weekend. I have been meaning to post some things I’ve been learning lately and just haven’t had the chance. Lots of color training has been going on in my unit meetings. Fun stuff!! :D
Sounds like you’re doing great with your business. Good luck with your big class on the 27th!
