Not all alcohols are isopropyl/rubbing alcohol...alcohol is more of a chemical formula description than necessarily a fast drying liquid. Some alcohols are fatty/waxy, which make sense in dry skin formulas and hair conditioners. People who don't know this see the word "alcohol" and freak out...but if you look up the specific type of alcohol, you can find out what it really is.

Surprisingly the dry skin formula contains the alcohol. Someone explained why to me once, but I don't remember real well. Something about it controlling the amount of moisture by evaporation of the alcohol. I'm allergic to lotions that contain alcohol. They make my skin red and itchy.

Ah. I thought the Combo had the alcohol? The purple doesn't cause the flaking. The moisturizer does. That's why I switched. What I really need is the microderm. I need to exfoliate. That would help. I also need to drink more water and relax. ; ) Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey Jenni, since you are experiencing flaking with the Oil Free Hydrating Gel, have you considered trying the pink one? That would be the Intense Moisturizing Cream. I even use that from time to time in the dead of winter. I don't use it all over; just in the areas that flake. You might also want to switch to the Combo/Oily Age-Fighting Moisturizer because it does not include alcohol in the ingredients. The Normal/Dry formula does. I'm allergic to the Normal/Dry formula (good thing I have combination skin!).
I love the dryer suggestion. I do that, too! There's nothing like putting on clothes fresh out of the hot dryer. Mmmm snuggly! LOL

I must be the most basic human to ever live. In the morning I wash my face with Timewise and put the purple stuff on my skin. The normal/dry moisturizer is making my skin flaky due to the approaching winter. Even if I use the moisturizer and the purple stuff I get flaky. The purple stuff works and my skin still looks great.

Since I'm never going to get old, I don't use the day/night. Although I do see tremendous changes in my skin when I do. I also get very few, if any break outs. I get less when I use all the products.

I do have to say that I have used other products and none have given me the results MK has. If I do get off my lazy butt and use them all my skin looks fabulous.

Last, I have found the best way to Fight the Winter Frump is to throw your clothes in the dryer before you get dressed. This way you have something warm on before you head out into the cold. If your clothes are *too* fancy to throw in the dryer, through your nylons and your undies in. This way you are warm in the good spots. LOL
