You got it, you fix what is broken. Likewise in our business there will be times when we have to put it on hold and then pick it up later. Could you look at these as traffic lights on our "journey"? The red light has us stopped for awhile and then we go on green?

Guesss there are lots of analogies we could use. :)

Thanks, mk4me! I have also had directors compare obstacles to a road trip. You know your destination (goal) is California. But what if you get a flat tire? Do you give up and decide you're not going? NO! You fix the problem and proceed. This is more about the goal in stone and the deadline in sand, but so many analogies to journeys and goals are relevant. :D

The way I have always looked at goals: it is your "map" on how to get where you are going.

It is very much like taking a road trip. If you were going to a certain destination, ie: an amusement park, that you had never visited before, you would not just jump into your car and start driving around, hoping to get there. (or at least most people I know whould not). You would have a map or an atlas, you would have a mapquest print out, or you would have a gps unit to help you get there. Right?

If you get lost, the GPS will recaluculate and get you there, if you get lost you can get the map out and figure out where you are and get back on track to your destination.

This is how I view a goal. If you have a destination you must also have a "map" to get where you are going.

Another great post Shades!

Superb post Shades! I love the way you have broken down your main goal (and compared it with a long trip). I think that view will really help you and many others look at the goal as doable~~which it definitely is!

Your affirmation is great also.... it sets out the vision of HOW you will accomplish the goal and the picture of doing it!

Keep up the great work!

Shades...Another GREAT POST. I know that you are going to make it. We all need to get over the fear that holds us back from our goals. Like I said before "Fear is something that has not been prayed about"...so with that I am working on my fear of the phone too. You know what I don't understand is why is that fear there. Why does it bother me so much just to pick up the phone and call. And here is the funny thing when I finally do pick up that phone and call, I usually feel pretty good and confident and to tell you the truth no one has really been rude. So go figure who knows. Anyway I know that you are going to make it. You are doing GREAT with your team members and you are really getting over your fear. I know that we can all do this and we need to so that we can be free financially, and not have to go to the 8-5 everyday. So I know that you can make it and will make it. Oh check out my affirmation I did it and it is kinda long. Tell me what you think. Have a GREAT DAY.
