Booth Set Up

Occasionally, someone finds this site searching the keywords “how to set up a display table” or “what should I put on a display table.” I’ve decided to address that since I did a table event all day today. Our table was simple, but attractive. We had one catalog book placed in a spiral bound display sleeve. I know that sounds weird. These are fabulous and can be purchased at File It Pro. We had my display trays so that people could see the new colors in person. My friend had made up raffle prizes. Ten winners would receive a lipstick and liner (discontinued platinum packaging) in our drawing. I found an old product gift box that worked perfectly as an entry box. We also had two dishes with mints, our door prize grand prize for the event, and a box filled with samples that people could take.
We attracted some lookers to our table, but had only a few leads. The table was free which was very nice. By free, I mean that we didn’t have to pay to be at the event. Very nice. I got two leads. One is out of state and the other is not from my area. I was surprised at this. The overall turn out at the event was very small, but the people who were there, seemed to not be local at all! I saw a woman I work with and she lives over an hour away.
So was this worth it? Well, it wasn’t far from my home. I did get to spend some time with a friend and get to know a newer member of our unit. Funny coincidence here; this woman did my mom’s hair years ago! What a small world it is. We talked about some brainstorms on ways to attract more business. We are going to be focusing more on marketing ourselves and less on chasing after people. Seems pretty common sense to me.
I had a good time so just for that it was worth it. Also, it was gorgeous day. It was good to be outside on such a nice day. I did talk to people who had questions about our product and it felt good being able to help them. It was worth it, but not in the ways you might think.

Sahdes, this has to do with network marketing. Have you ordered and read The Renegade Network Marketer? I was sent the link to this and I didn’t order it. Have you read it? I want to order it however I don’t want it to be like other things that I have ordered so if you could please let me know I would appreciate it. Thanks Bren
Hi there, Bren! I emailed you!
Nice set up Shades! I love doing booth events, even though I rarely get qualified leads from them. I usually have my posterboard (set up like a science fair exhibit) with all the before and after pictures on it…. on the back of my table. Another one with all the different parties I do (I am redoing that board with actual pictures from the most recent parties).
Thanks, SkinCareMom!
The before/after shots sounds like a really good idea, too. I am still building my portfolio. That’s something I’m going to keep in mind.
I use the ones that are sent out by directors! The before and afters of the arms with the CelluShape, the Visible Action Lotion, etc…. That way I don’t have to have permission from the subject to be on the board
I was wondering about that. Another great idea!
Have you all seen the new MK facial boxes they are the bomb!!! They are black like the compacts and look ultra professional.
I have not seen those, Colleen. That sounds awesome. Are they on Section 2?
