Clean Up Your Look

The other day I posted some photos of my eyes with some new mineral makeup shades. I had different color combinations on each eye. I mentioned that my eyebrows were kind of sloppy. Today I fixed them up to show the importance of keeping them neat.
This is my first installment of Fight the Frump with Fussypants. This is a weekly article that I will be doing describing ways to look and feel fabulous even if you don’t feel like it!
As promised I got bold and applied 4 colors at once! That’s right, folks; 4 colors all at the same time on each eye! Did it look overdone? Was it too colorful? Did it bring back memories of the psychadelic combinations of the 60’s and 70’s? Well, you can be the judge. I have pictures.
I’m wearing the same colors on both eyes. This morning, I started with Eyecicles™ in Frosted Pink on the entire lid. This product is a liquid eye shadow. I love to use it as a base. It helps the eye color stay on (although mineral makeup doesn’t need much help staying on). Next, I applied Silky Caramel mineral eye color on the browline and lid. In the inner crease you will see Lemongrass mineral eye color. I also applied this near the tear duct to brighten the eye area. On the outer crease I applied Amber Blaze. Finally, I put just a touch of Denim Frost on the lid to blend.
Notice, I cleaned up my look by tweezing my brows. Something I learned today was that sometimes it is easier to see what needs tweezed after makeup is applied. I use eye creams in the morning for moisture.
These moisturizers will matte down those stray hairs and make them difficult to see and also difficult to tweeze. Sometimes the eye shadow highlights it well. It does for me!
I also curled my lashes. For those who have never curled your lashes or are opposed, it really does make a difference. It helps to open up the eye as well. Compare to my previous post that it looks a little bit more open.
For this application I used a previous gift with purchase called the Beauty Fix Kit that included mini brushes, a wonderful set of tweezers, pencil sharpener, mirror, and a cute bag. I love this because it’s very portable and I often do my makeup in the morning before the office opens. Ssshhh!

Stumble It!

One thing I love about the eyesicles is that they help intensify the color of matte eyeshadows (when eyeshadow is applied over the eyesicles). But like you said, the new mineral colors don’t need a lot of help. They are fabulous on their own!
Great look Shades! And the 4 colors are definitely more subtle than most people would think
Love it with the “groomed” brows….Such a change!
Hey, if you’re a repeat visitor, you may have noticed I edited this post. Hubby told my the pic with my eyes open looks like a dead body (nice, huh?). So, I just put the closed eyes on here. Less offensive.
