Five More Phone Contacts

I did it! I made five more contacts tonight.
Four were via the phone and one was via email as I only had that to contact her. Tonight I contacted existing customers rather than new leads. I left three messages and spoke to one. I’m very happy I spoke to the one I did. She had returned product to me awhile back and was going to visit my website to see if she wanted to do an exchange. It had been months since we had spoken so I really wanted to touch base with her since she returned the product and I had not yet refunded her.
We chatted for a few minutes. She now uses a different skin care line, but she may be interested in seeing what’s new with my product line.
Tomorrow I am mailing her the refund check and in a couple of weeks I’m calling her back and we are going to schedule an appointment! I hope to hear from my other two customers soon so that we can possibly schedule appointments, too.
The third message I left was with a prospective team member. I had emailed her an agreement about 3 months ago in March. She had called then expressing an interest in signing a new agreement (she is a former team member of mine who became inactive). I just let her know I was thinking about her and wondered if she had received my email and if her plans have changed.
Finally, I emailed the person who had signed up for my drawing at the bride show back in January. She filled out two entries so I’m guessing she is quite interested in trying the products. She didn’t write a phone number. I sent a brief message letting her know who I am and how I have her information. Also, I told her to please call me to schedule her appointment. We’ll see what happens next!
Guess what! It’s getting easier to talk to people already. I think the biggest obstacle now is just figuring out what to say to them. My new goal is to contact my entire customer list by the end of June. By making five contacts per day, I can accomplish this. I have in the neighborhood of 150 people on my customer list. Yes. You read that right. There are roughly 150 people on my list! I have a lot of work to do! ![]()

Stumble It!
Wow! 150 customers! That’s great. I’m sure I’ll be there some day, but I’m still building. I haven’t gotten to the “calling people is easier” point yet, but I look forward to reaching that…eventually.
Keep up the good work! You’re very inspiring!
Good for you Shades! I made a drop by delivery to a customer (she ordered her cleanser on the phone today and was totally out!). I had my bag with the NEW Mineral colors in it and she was very impressed. Wanted to know how much it would be to do the compact filled with eye and cheek colors (that sale will be coming next week after she gets paid). While I was there her friend was visiting and asking my customer about my business~~~gave her a card and sample (she speaks Chinese so my customer had to talk with her) to try and sent her to my website;) She wanted to know the difference between my business and my customer’s business (an MLM)….hmmmmm possible contact/customer/team member????
Thanks, ladies!
kare, I know how you feel. Until this week I was a big baby about getting on the phone. I have heard a great saying going around. I can’t remember where I heard it first and I don’t know if Mary Kay Ash said it first, but this is it:
“We will make a change when the pain of remaining the same is greater than the pain of change.”
I’ve seen different versions, but I think it is so profound. And lately, I have found myself in a position where something’s gotta give! So, I’m moving away from my comfort zone and working with the numbers I have and I will be building new numbers very soon.
SCM, congrats on your potential new contact/customer/team member! LOL Perhaps if her friend is visiting from China, she is familiar with the Chinese branch of MK. Very cool either way!
WAHOOOOO girlfriend! Way to go. ‘Celebratin YOU!
All you have to do is believe in YOUR SELF! Great job.
Try to get new leads as well. You could easily have 200 leads by the end of the month. Two people a day.
You’re doing great. I know you can do it. Aug. 1 is my goal. Kris said he mailed out the agreement. It should be there. It’s coming from the D so it may take awhile. For some reason if you mail things from the D it takes twice as long to get anywhere. I once had letters coming from Detroit and New York. The letter from NY got here first. I live 30 min from Detroit! I could have drove there faster!
Okay. I’m done. I’m so proud of you. Yeah! You’re going to be a future director!
HeeHee…. this gal actually lives 4 blocks from me (and has lived in the US for 3 years~~she is just more comfortable in her native language and since I don’t speak it….)
I am going to follow up with her next week (a playdate for my son and my customer’s daughter has been set and she is inviting her friend)
Excellent, SCM! heehee!
Thanks, Darla and Jennifer for the encouragement!
