Displaying All These New Colors

As I’ve mentioned before, we got to see the new mineral makeup colors at our meeting last night. Our training included how to display the new colors on the go. It may seem like there are tons of colors, but guess what! Two display trays and one compact will hold all the new shades!

My strategy will be to get the new colors and get them into my display trays. I believe it will fit all of the eye colors, cheek colors, and bronzing/highlighting powders. Isn’t that good news? No big bulky displays required. Here’s another tip; at Wal-Mart there is a tackle box with 18 storage slots that will hold the new mineral colors as well. We were forewarned that each slot will hold 7 colors, but only put 6 in there otherwise you will have a lot of difficulty when you want to get them out!

Unfortunately, I did not have my camera with me at the meeting to take a picture and it’s not on Wal-Mart’s website. I know it costs $5.79 or $6.79. I may purchase one for myself. If I decide to do that, I certainly will post a pic!

Either way, the display trays will slip nicely into the On-the-Go Tote or into the quilted makeup bag hostess gift. I think On-the-Go appointments are going to become easier!

Hey girlfriend, I have got to get my links updated. I bad. I love the sleek look of the new trays and yes I think it is going to be a lot easier to do our business.

The walmart box is a good price too. Personally I like the idea of putting them in the hostess bag as then we could kill two birds with one stone..:) nothing takes the place of actually seeing something versus the book.

As for storage, I actually have been using a small pencil box (the 5×7ish ones that kids buy for school) and the new shadows and blushes fit in there perfectly! The bad thing is that the rows need to be filled out for them to keep still. (I filled the rest of it with 1 or 2 compacts) If you have one on hand though its a simple solution. Plus the box would fit easily in any bag you use.

Angie! Great to see you back! :) I use the hostess gift for display and would store unopened product to sell in the Wal-Mart box. ;) I am excited to try the new colors!

Sabrina, the pencil box sounds like a great idea, too. Thank you for sharing. :D

Another great storage and display case is at Joanne Fabrics and Crafts. The case will hold everything you need for a show, it is on wheels. It has the tackle box, divider cases inside. AND.. it is black with Pink trim. It is so perfect! Check it out.

I will be sure to check it out, pinkrenegade. Thanks! It sounds pretty perfect. :)

Sounds like you were at my meeting last night Shades! I showed the consultants the trays filled that way also~~ make sure you put the color groups together and not alphabatize the colors (Crystalline and Coal don’t do very well next to each other;)). And if you have the Mother’s Day Gift Set…… take the products out of it and you can carry the 2 display trays (one with all 28 eye colors and both hightlighters; the other with all 10 cheek colors and 2 bronzers) and the compact (with the other 2 bronzers) in the bag… makes a great conversation piece!

I am still working on the “great” storage of the new products…. the trays that I have in my kitchen to separate things seem to work really well, but I only have a couple of them!

LOL! What a coincidence! Our meeting was Monday night and they had the colors grouped together in the trays and they showed the Mother’s Day gifts set bag with products in there. Yes, the trays fit! I am all out of Mother’s Day Gift Sets, however. I believe they will also fit in the On-The-Go Tote nicely as well. :)

I want to make a ministore in my office and I am working on organizing things for that, too. My goal is have my customers come to me as well as me going to them. It’s so difficult when I am away at a desk job 40 hours a week and driving to and from that job 10 hours a week. ICKY! :P

We heard some other great ideas for meeting sales goals that I’m going to share here, too. I think I’m going to try a couple myself. :)

Yes Shades, they definitely fit in the “On The Go Tote”! And you can put your datebook, sales slips, profile cards etc in there. Makes for a great on the go sale:)
As far as displays in your home~~ Go for it! I live in a 1000 sq foot home with 6 people and NO space! I don’t have an office, just the dining room table which is also the school desk for my homeschooled son, homework desk for my highschoolers! One of my consultants has a cute mini-office in her home and she changes the display depending on the season and what is new in MK. She has most of her appointments in her office since her hubby works nights and they have 3 little ones!

  9. Shades of Pink says:

Oh wow! Thank you for that info! My house is 961 sq. ft. and I have converted the second bedroom into an office (no children, just a dog). My husband and I share it for our businesses. Hubby’s job is construction so he only needs the computer from time to time, but I can use it as a display room. :D

  10. SkinCareMom says:

You have an ideal situation especially since your hubby is behind you on the display area! Make it interactive if you can. By that, I mean.. have samples out near the actual product on display. Your guests will love being able to see the new colors and be able to pick up a sample to try ;)

Thanks again! That is so helpful!! :)
