Closer to Home

Tonight I had my weekly MK meeting. This was our monthly S.O.S. event held at a local Holiday Inn. During the first week of each month, we have a larger event joining 4 to 6 units together for motivation and training. These are always fun because we see people we don’t always get to see and we hear from directors that we don’t hear week after week. The variety is good!

One of the highlights of tonight’s meeting was receiving the new Look Book. If you have not seen it yet, you will love it! It is made to resemble a fashion magazine. It has headlines on the cover, a table of contents on the first two pages, and it’s filled with bright photographs. The new products are easy to see in this book. It’s a very colorful publication. Another new item I saw at the meeting was the new Hostess Brochure! It is oblong like the new Girl’s Guide to Glamor Brochure. The new Hostess Brochure features current hostess gifts (it appears the current quilted makeup bag trio remains an option) and appointment options. I wish I’d had my camera! I would have taken pictures of the display table to share here! My bad. I apologize!

Once the meeting wrapped up, I got to talking to some of my consultant buddies. I was telling a friend of mine who joined MK about a month before I did way back in 2003 some of the issues I’m having in my biz and where I’m feeling stuck. She has been a car driver, DIQ, and is currently a Future Director. I honestly don’t know if she’s still driving a company car, but she’s doing OK as far as I can tell. She had some ideas to partner up and gain some customers so I’m excited. I need a power partner nearby who has been where I want to be in my business! It will be fun! Hopefully, it will help me to overcome a lot of my fears.

My goal is to find more customers who live closer to me. Most of my current customers live near my work which is 30 miles away from my house. I would love to hold more appointments in my home, but I realize with the cost of gas being what it is saving customers a trip is a selling point. It will be interesting to see what results I encounter. :)

I have seen the new Look and the Hostess Brochure too. I think they are both wonderful and I believe they may drive more business to us as consultants. Ordering will be much easier for the customer the way the order form is now set up. I know the Hostess Brochure with matching postcards will save me time when planning a skin care class.

As for attracting customers closer to home I find that if I carry a MK purse or bag when I am out doing errands people always make comments. I can then give then a card and let them know what I do. Customers seem to come from the least expected places in the small town where I live.

You will over come your fear it just takes time ans patience.

I agree with TexasGal… finding customers closer to home will help~~open mouth ;)

And the quilted trio bag is regular line now! It along with the lighted mirror is being suggested as an optional hostess gift for those hostesses who might not want the current quarter’s gift or be repeat hostesses!

Having a partner to run with really helps also~you will inspire her to reach further as she will do the same for you.

Thank you so much, TexasGal. And to you, SkinCareMom. :) I have some leads to call before they get too cold and I have some new events coming up this summer. :)
