Do you have some issues with product changes? More importantly, are your customers expressing frustrations to you? Remember, there is a very important resource for our customers. It is Mary Kay’s toll free customer service line: 1-800-MARY KAY. If you have a customer who isn’t happy with a product discontinuation or who may have a suggestion to make to improve a product she would love even more if…(fill in the blank); tell her about this tool!
The reason I’m posting on this is that I think the toll free customer service line is often overlooked by our sales force. I had a customer not too long ago who voiced her feelings on discontinuation of products. She was upset because many of her favorite lip colors were always being discontinued. She liked Simply Pink lipstick and Dark Berry lip liner. I told her to call 1-800-MARY KAY and tell them how she felt. I told her they do listen to our customers — sometimes more than they will listen to sales force. The company wants to know what customers want. They should always be encouraged to call this number if they have any suggestions or complaints. Now, I don’t know if my customer actually called the number, but they did bring Dark Berry back! ![]()

Stumble It!

Thanks Shades never even thought about that. So how are your sales going this December mine have actually been better. I think after the first of the year that I am going to start really working my business. I know that I want to I just have to make the time. I want to also be a Director because I want to show women how to work that will enrich their lives. I don’t just want to recruit I want to sell, sell, book, sell, and book some more and then recruit.
You know I have been thinking about personal use consultants and yes I was one. However I think that I would rather have a faithful customer than a consultant that just wants to get the product at a discount and this is coming from a person that was a personal consultant just so that me and my sisters makeup that we all love at half price. Then I read the material and I thought I can do this so I have. So…I know I got way of topic sorry.
Have a very Merry Christmas.
Hi Pink Bren! My sales this year have been pretty good in comparison to past Decembers. I’m going to launch a color sale after Christmas. 30% off all color; 50% off if they book an appointment!
Can’t wait to see how that goes. Like you, I’m planning to really work it in January. I am doing a table at a bridal show in the first Sunday of January. I’m excited. The lady who does this every year says she typically sell $3000-$4000 as a result of this event! She holds appointments. I hope I see similar results. I plan to call everyone I talk to at the event. I also have some of my established customers interested in being January hostesses.
I agree with you on the personal use consultant vs. loyal customer. I want a working team. I want a working unit. Building a business with non-business oriented people is mundane. The focus should be people who have similar goals to our own.
You have a very Merry Christmas, too! I read on another blog your husband is home. That is fantastic! So happy for you!
Man I have only called the number 4 times that I can remember and they were always helpful. For a company that has TONS of people calling them I have to say their customer service is one of the best, they dont treat you like a number at all.
I agree, Colleen. I have called them many times (not 1-800-MARY KAY, but the line for consultants). They are always very helpful and very respectful.
