Postponement!

Well, my class for today has postponed. I’m working to get it rescheduled for December 8. I have a big booth event next Saturday and Sunday. I’m excited about it, but wary at the same time. My friend set it up for me. The event is a bit out of my locale, however, I like to think nationally when it comes to travel. I think I’m going to write a more in depth post about these events later today. For now, I do have some errands to run! :)

Big MK Day Tomorrow

Tomorrow afternoon I have a skin care class. This will be my first class since April! I’m nervous and excited. I want it to go well. There should be about 7 people there. I am going to give my hostess friend 20% off her order. I am going to offer the mini Satin Hands set to anyone who orders the Basic. If sales reach $200, I will also allow the hostess to choose one of the company hostess prizes–I have a few to choose from. In order to create incentive for bookings, I’m going to offer 50% off color cosmetics at the follow up appointments. (more…)

Remembering Mary Kay…

Mary Kay Ash died on November 22, 2001, which, incidentally, was Thanksgiving Day.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to remember her on this 6th anniversary of her death.

I am committed to conduct my business in the way Mary Kay Ash intended it to be. That is, after all, the best way to run one’s Mary Kay business. ;) Her legacy lives on in each of us as beauty consultants. Our goal should always be to represent this company accurately and how it intended for us to work.

Networking 101: What to Say–Some Suggestions

Have you ever mentioned to someone that you are a Mary Kay Consultant and received an eyeroll in response? :roll:  Or, maybe you told a close friend or relative you’ve decided to become a Mary Kay Consultant and her response was less than *ahem* enthusiastic. It can be a powerful deflator, can’t it? Our toughest customers are the people who know us best because they know us from way back when we couldn’t sell enough candy for girl scouts! What begins to happen is an internalization of any adversity or rejection. We take it personally. It simply can’t be taken personally. Most likely, it has nothing to do with us. (more…)

Is Winter Drying Out Your Skin?

I have some solutions for dry skin woes in winter. I’ve been suffering from it recently. Granted, it’s not freezing cold just yet, but the air is dryer and with a woodburner in the house, my face is not getting enough moisture for sure! Coaching is the Key

Having trouble getting appointments to hold? You may need to give your hostesses more coaching. I’ve found that when I give my hostess expectations she is more likely to take me seriously. It’s easier to coach people who are strictly customers than it is to coach friends and family members; at least it is in my experience. People who have met me after I signed my agreement take me much more seriously than anyone who knew me before Mary Kay.

Lots of Section 2

Today I have the house to myself. I decided to reorganize my MK closet. My MK closet is a complete mess. I need shelves … bad! Right now, I have the wheeled carrier, one Rubber Maid ™ tote, and several totes (as in bags) holding my inventory and supplies. I can’t stand the disorganization! Even though everything is put back away and I was able to throw some things out and lighten the load, it’s still a mess. At least now I know what I have and where it is. I have a LOT of Beauty Books! Recently, a friend of mine sold her product back so she gave me a lot of her left over Section 2. I’m very grateful. I have profile cards, sales slips, hostess brochures, recruiting CD’s and brochures, invitations, thank you cards, and GWP items to last me. She even gave me 2 On-the-Go Totes. I could probably do 100 faces with the stuff she has given me! (more…)
