Beat the Odds

This is a great story! It’s also true!

As Tall as You Want to Be

When he was two years old, this adopted child of two college

professors suddenly and inexplicably stopped growing, and

Don’t Should On Yourself!

Have you ever thought about what you should have done? How about what you could have done? Have you ever thought “if only I would have done it this way?” This type of thinking comes from dwelling on past events. Events that cannot be changed now. Another phrase I have heard many utter is, “I should have never gotten involved in this in the first place!” OK. Perhaps not, but you did get involved. Rather than kick yourself over and over for making a choice that you now regret, realize the mistake and move toward change. The past can’t be changed. It is more productive to live in the present and plan for the future. The past is a reference point for making new decisions. It is not a mental warzone where we beat ourselves up over choices and decisions that may not have worked out! (more…)

Consultant Phone Survey

Calling All Independent Sales Force Members!

All Independent Beauty Consultants are invited to complete a telephone survey on a number of Mary Kay® products during Be a Star! Seminar 2007. If you are interested in providing feedback to the Mary Kay Research & Development team, please call the following toll-free number, (866) 498-9010, from July 18 through Aug. 10, 2007, 24 hours a day. Are You Noticing A Pattern?

This is another fabulous article from Get Motivation. Enjoy!

Be Aware of Your Patterns

If you’re like most people, you’ve probably noticed some

patterns in your life. By “patterns,” I mean situations that

seem to show up over and over again; the cast of characters

may change a bit, but the end results remain the same.

In and of themselves, such patterns aren’t necessarily good

or bad. They can be the source of boundless joy or

tremendous frustration, economic abundance or financial

struggle. In fact, it’s quite likely that you have both

positive and negative patterns in your life right now. (more…)

Seminar 2008: Pick Your Prize!

Just look at the 2008 Seminar Awards! I got my Applause today and I am LOVING that “Pink Wishes” ring! I think it’s my year to walk the stage in the Court of Sales! :D

What are you goals this Seminar year? One of those smashing new Career Cars? Directorship? Court of Sales? Court of Sharing? Can you envision yourself reaching those goals? I for one, could totally see myself in either the Vibe OR the fabulous G6! Where do you see yourself?

Intouch Upgrade

Check this out! It’s probably in your email, too. I like the new look of Intouch!

As you read in your August Applause magazine, the Mary Kay InTouch® Web Site has been redesigned. On Monday, July 16, log on and be wowed! It’s simpler and easier than ever to find what you need!

Know When to Share Dreams

This was in my Get Motivation email this morning. I think it makes some excellent points. In MK I have heard people say to avoid negative people altogether. Well, what if that “negative” person is a family member? You can’t ditch them–they’re your family! This article has a much better message in my opinion.

Learn From All: Share Your Dream with Few

According to a close friend of mine, she keeps sharing her

dream (in this case we are defining a dream as an ultimate

business success goal) with people who call her “silly” and

otherwise put her down for having that dream.

I asked her, “why put yourself through that?” (more…)

A Word on Creative Thinking

I belong to a mailing list from www.getmotivation.com. About once a week I get a newsletter with a featured article. This is one of those articles.

Unlocking Your Creativity

Creative thinking can be stimulated by two things; intensely

desired goals and pressing problems. Your creative

capacities need something to home in on and your job is to

provide it.

A Continual Stimulus For Ideas…

Intensely desired goals, clearly defined with detailed plans

for their accomplishment act as a continual stimulus for

ideas to achieve them.

Visualize Your Goals…

To trigger your imagination, write out a clear description

of your ideal end result or goal. Be clear about the goal,

be flexible about the process. Think about it, visualize it

as realized over and over. Project your mind forward to the

picture of the realized goal and then look back to the

present. (more…)
