I Think I Need a Makeover

Today I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror at work and I was not pleased with what I saw. ( I look pretty rough, to put it mildly. The stress of these past few months have really left me raggedy. My hair has grown out quite a bit, which my husband likes. I think my hair is stringy and needs cut. I haven’t been wearing makeup. I don’t even add it during the day anymore. I have a “what’s the point?” kind of attitude right now. I used to get this way pre-Mary Kay days. In light of all that’s been happening I actually feel guilty about trying to work my business. Can you believe that? It’s a business that will help us financially, but because I enjoy it, I feel guilt. What is going on???

I really need to get my MK image going again. That will make me want to get out there and work it more. I have customers to call. I need to just do it anyway! Time to get motivated again! I feel a BIDIA coming on…

Shades: I like your long hair, maybe if you just got the layers trimmed you would feel better? I used one of the new look cards from the latest quarter and I have loved that look right now. Being a comsultant, we can change our look as much as we want and it won’t get too pricey either! I think one night of girl time at home with a hot bath, masque, and makeover would make you feel great.

    Thanks, MKR–I think you’re onto something. ;) It’s been awhile since I’ve tried a new 101 Look!

I need a makeover….I was thinking of cutting my hair and getting bangs. I haven’t had bangs in YEARS! I would love to get my eyebrows done. I’m losing some in between my eyebrows. They look funny. It’s almost like my brows are balding.

I like bangs. My hair has thinned so much that I really can’t do bangs anymore. I like doing short layered cuts; it makes my hair look fuller. I think my thyroid condition caused me to lose tons of hair. It has always been thin. I wish I had full, thick hair. Not this stringy looking stuff!

It is so funny to compare how we view ourselves and how others view us. I think your hair looks great from all your pics and I love the reddish color, too. But I say go with what makes you feel good, that is what people will notice most- your confidence.

I, too, needed a make-over right before vacation. I had my hair cut adding more layers and bangs (yes, I love them). I also started reversing my 2-toned color look back towards the blonde/red. I laid off the glamour make-up for summer (as is usual for me) with the exception of some mascara and lip gloss. I think the changing of the seasons makes us all want to change it up a little.

Shades, I love the length of your hair as well and agree that maybe a trim may be what you are looking for. That said though, YOU are the one who needs to be happy with your look, so do what YOU want. Your hubby will love it no matter what, as long as YOU are happy with it. :)
