Well, it certainly has been a long time since I started the “Know Your Product” posts! I’m up tonight with lots of time on my hands so I’m going to dive right back in!
Masks
The primary function of a mask is to exfoliate the skin. Masks are part of the Classic Basic Skin Care line. This does not mean, however, that they cannot be paired with Time Wise. I use the Revitalizing Mask one in awhile to get a fresh feeling for my skin. I want to give the Clarifying Mask a shot one of these days as well.
Moisture-Rich Mask Formula 1: This is a gentle mask. It adds moisture to dry skin. It is great for dry irritated skin. This product is also soothing for sunburnt skin and helps with flakiness. This mask is pink in color.
Revitalizing Mask Formula 2: This is a clay based mask. It contains walnut shells. The shells are crushed into a powder and rounded. This means that they are very gentle for exfoliation and should not irritate the skin. This is safe for sensitive skin. Because of it’s texture, it can double as a scrub. When used as a mask it is very gritty. This is the thickest of the masks. It contains natural ingredients and botanicals. This mask is green.
Clarifying Mask Formula 3: This mask is a Mud Mask. When you think of masks at spas, you may think of a thick muddy mask. That is this product. It is excellent for blemish-prone skin. This is not a gritty mask at all. It goes on velvetty with a matte finish. This is very drying to the skin.
Fresheners
Hydrating Freshener Formula 1: This product is for dry skin and is therefore, alcohol free. It tones and freshens. This will minimize the appearance of pores. Promotes vitamin enriched skin. Contains Vitamin A derivatives. Neautralizes free radicals. For best results, apply this product using 100% cotton balls.
Purifying Freshener Formula 2: Gently tones. This product does contain alcohol. Best for normal and combination skin. Controls oily build-up and also allows make-up to stay on.
Blemish Control Toner Formula 3: Great for acne prone skin. This product will surely treat a breakout. I swear by this product anytime the unthinkable happens and I get a pimple!
This toner will reduce blackheads and prevent new acne. This product contains salicylic acid 2% and is therefore a poison control product. Keep it away from children. Because of this product’s strength, I recommend using it only during a breakout at first. If someone is extremely oily, then this product can probably be used on a daily basis. Have them start with one application daily. If they need it more often, they can apply it up to 3 times a day.
There you have it! Fresheners and Masks! Watch for “Acne Help” and “Supplements” in the near future! ![]()

Thank you. I never washed my face before I started MK, so I don’t know much about skin care. I know what to say in a skin care class, but other than that I have no clue. Thank you!
You’re so very welcome! I can relate to that. I used Clinique’s skin care as bad advice from a friend. It really dried my face and caused breakouts and then the breakouts scarred. I had even used the sensitive skin formula (I tried all 3 that they offered). I then swore off ALL skin care and just used Noxema or Clean & Clear. When I was invited to a MK party 4 years ago, I had no idea MK was skin care. I thought it was just makeup. I was scared to death to put it on my face! But then it felt good. So, I got brave. And now the damage that was caused by Clinique has been pretty much reversed. It’s amazing. That is why I decided to join MK. It is a product I truly believe in and have no qualms about telling others about it.
I have learned so much about my skin since signing my agreement and I’m happy for the enlightenment. Sorry to ramble!
Great information!! Thanks for sharing it.
