Know Your Product Series: Skin Care Moisturizers

It is essential to moisturize after cleansing. When you wash your face, the water evaporates which causes dryness to the skin. By following up with moisturizer, the moisture of the water is locked into the skin. In addition to the face, moisturizer should be applied to the throat and chest area to prevent aging of these areas. The director who gave me this training says, “Skin care to the bra-line; color cosmetics to the jawline.” :) So now here we go! Jumping right in with Moisture. :D

MOISTURIZERS

1. Time Wise® Age-Fighting Moisturizer (Normal/Dry): Time Wise® moisturizers contain no oil. They contain humectants from plants which is much lighter than oils. These are oil-free and noncomedogenic, meaning they will not clog pores. :) Age-Fighting Moisturizer also protects the skin from free radicals in the environment. It acts as a sort of shield. The primary functions of Age-Fighting Moisturizers are to firm and soften the skin while reducing the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles. These moisturizers last up to 10 hours.

2. Time Wise® Age-Fighting Moisturizer (Combination/Oily): All of the above applies. What makes this product different from is that it is a lighter-weight moisturizer, and it contains no alcohol. That’s right, the Normal/Dry formula contains 3 types of alcohol. I don’t fully understand how something for dry skin can contain alcohol, but I also failed chemistry. :) I do keep this in mind, however, if someone says they have sensitive skin. I may have someone who says they are dry with sensitive skin use the N/D Cleanser and the C/O Moisturizer. Personally, I can’t use lotions that contain alcohol. My skin gets red and itchy. I tested the N/D Moisturizer on the back of one hand and had this reaction. Good thing I’m C/O, anyway!

3. Velocity®: This moisturizer is very lightweight. It has no age-fighting benefits as it is designed for young, acne-prone skin. It contains a light fragrance. What makes this moisturizer unique is that it contains additional oil absorbers.

4. Extra-Emollient Moisturizer (discontinued): This product was not oil free. If you come across someone who used this product, it can be substituted with Intense Moisturizing Cream or Advanced Moisture Renewal. This is in addition to her regular moisturizer. Intense Moisturizing Cream will be more effective, however, if she finds this to be too heavy, switch her to Advanced Moisture Renewal.

5. Advanced Moisture Renewal: Comes in a tube. This product also is not oil free. It works at the lipid level, meaning it absorbs deep into the skin to replenish moisture. This comes after the regular moisture step in her routine.

6. Instense Moisturizing Cream: For dry skin. This is a pink cream. It contains avocado oil, bees wax, shea butter, algae extract, *copper, *magnesium, *zinc, and *mica. (*Light reflectors–ever notice that it has a little shimmer to it?). This product is non-comedogenic and lasts up to 10 hours.

7. Oil-Free Hydrating Gel: For normal to oily skin. This is a purple gel. It contains algae extract, and camelia extract. This is a non-greasy formula and it cools and refreshes the skin. It helps to remove environmental stress from the skin (such as relief from sunburn and windburn). It is a soothing product and moisturizes up to 10 hours.

8. Extra-Emollient Night Cream: It is important to understand this product and how it works most effectively. This is the only occlusive product in our product line. Occlusive means that this product does not absorb into the skin and it does not add moisture. The purpose of this product is to protect against moisture loss. It locks moisture in. Skin should be dampened with water prior to applying this product.

9. Classic Basic Enriched Moisturizer Formula 1: For dry skin. Smoothes and silkens the skin. This product is non-comedogenic, however, it has no age-fighting benefits.

10. Classic Basic Balancing Moisturizer Formula 2: For normal and combination skin. Works to balance dry areas and oily areas to maintain even moisture. Non-comedogenic with no age-fighting benefits.

11. Classic Basic Oil Control Lotion Formula 3: Contains oil absorbers to aid in acne prevention. These oil absorbers are stronger than those found in Velocity® moisturizer. This product can substitute Velocity® if there is an issue with fragrance. It is also recommended for those who are extremely prone to break-outs.

Believe it or not, we are through the moisturizers! Can you believe there are so many options out there???

I think it’s a different type of alcohol they put in it. I use it and my skin is not dry. Just the opposite. It is smooth and soft. The mask is what I love. It is like Microderm but doesn’t chew your skin off! Microderm is good for older women or women with rough skin. It’s too rough for me. The facial cloths make life really easy. I also like the visibly fit cream. It smells like roses and makes your skin soft. They hydrating gel is good if you are like me and the winter causes your skin to flake. It takes it away without leaving a greasy feeling from the extra moisturizer.

Great Job with the info! ; )

I’m not sure if the alcohol in the N/D moisturizer is the same as what’s in Bath & Bodyworks lotions, but I know that both give me the same allergic reaction. Fortunately, I don’t need N/D moisturizer. I am Combo/Oily so it’s really a non-issue for me. I just like to try the different products at least once so I can experience for myself before trying to sell it to a client. ;) I also love the masks as well as Microdermabrasion. Glad you like the info!! :D
