Just a list of highly recommended reading:
1. Dancing on my Grave–Gelsey Kirkland: Gelsey Kirkland is one of the most talented ballerinas of all time. She was Mikhail Baryshnikov’s partner for several years in the 70’s and 80’s. If you’ve ever seen the PBS telecast of “The Nutcracker” featuring Mikhail Baryshnikov, she is the lead “Clara” in that performance. Her story is amazing. She overcame a cocaine addiction as well as other demons and is still known in the dance world today as one of the all-time great Balanchine Ballerinas.
2. Miracles Happen–Mary Kay Ash: Mary Kay’s autobiography. This woman went through a lot and still maintained her focus. She is always an inspiration.
3. Mary Kay on People Management–Mary Kay Ash: This is a great book. I believe anyone who works with people in any capacity should read it. I have considered gifting this to many “supervisors” at my current place of employment upon my resignation. ![]()
4. The Prophet–Khalil Gibran: This book is simply inspiring.
5. A Heart Full of Love–Javan: Also an insipirational read.
6. More Than a Pink Cadillac–Jim Underwood
7. The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and Other Clinical Tales–Dr. Oliver Sacks: I had to read this during my undergrad studies. This is such an interesting read. It is all factual and yet it holds your interest because Dr. Sacks is a marvelous writer. It is entertaining while educating at the same time.
8. The Da Vinci Code–Dan Brown: Just because it is entertaining to read.
Any recommendations are greatly welcomed and appreciated! ![]()

Stumble It!
These books are not inspirational but I loved them! Nicolas Sparks: Susan’s Diary for Nicolas (you will need tissue) and The Lovely Bones. The Lovely Bones is an interesting read. I think about this book often. It effected me that much. I’ve read other really great books but these two stand out. Great summer reads.
If you haven’t read it, it’s worth a read. Have some tissues handy for there are some times you need them. There is some inspiration in there too. I absolutely loved this book.
My Sister’s Keeper, by Jodi Piccoult.
